It’s time to pack your camp spirit and head over to Portland’s Industrial Way for a week of activities that’ll have you shouting “Kumbaya” in no time!
Allagash Brewing Company is bringing the summer camp vibes right to Portland with their exciting event, Camp Allagash, running from Sunday, August 11th to Saturday, August 17th.
What to Expect
Get ready to pitch your metaphorical tent at Allagash as they transform their Portland campus into a full-on summer camp extravaganza. We’re talking tie-dyeing, friendship bracelets, and tiny axe throwing—you know, the usual camp shenanigans. If that’s not enough to get your campfire burning, you can meet some friendly critters from the Center for Wildlife or get in on the Rock Paper Scissors Tournament.
Most activities are free, but some special events will need a ticket.
Schedule of Events
Sunday, 8/11
- Center for Wildlife Animal Visit: Noon – 3pm—Meet some critters that are sure to make you howl with delight!
- Frozen Treats—Beat the heat with something cool.
- Toy Axe Throwing: All day—Perfect your “chopping” skills without any splinters!
Monday, 8/12
- Rock Painting: All day—Turn those ordinary rocks into works of art!
- Bingo: 4:30 – 6pm—Play for prizes like gift cards and Patagonia backpacks. It’s a win-win!
Tuesday, 8/13
- Tie Dye: Bring your own 100% cotton clothing or snag a free bandana (4pm – 5:30pm, RSVPs appreciated).
- “Fish in a Bucket” Casting Challenge: All day—It’s like fishing, but without the worms.
Wednesday, 8/14
- Friendship Bracelets: All day—Craft your way to new friendships!
Thursday, 8/15
- Sip and Learn: Crafting with Nature in Mind: 6pm—Create hand-hammered botanical tea towels and give back to The Ecology School. Tickets are $15, with $5 supporting this great cause.
- Friendship Bracelets: All day—More crafting, more fun!
Friday, 8/16
- Camp-themed Trivia: 5:30 – 7pm—Join Megh of Personality Hire Trivia for some campy questions and awesome prizes. RSVPs encouraged—don’t be “left in the woods”!
Saturday, 8/17
- Rock, Paper, Scissors Competition: Hosted every hour—Show off your skills in this classic camp game!
- Audubon Bird Walk: 11am—Take a walk on the wild side with experienced birders from the Audubon Society (RSVPs encouraged)
