Join the Old Souls for a walking tour of the Western Promenade neighborhood to enjoy some beautiful architecture and enjoy the beautiful Christmas lights. Along the way, you’ll get a little history of the neighborhood, learn a bit about some of Portland’s most famous architects, and meet some people with shared interests.
The tour will last approximately one hour and is entirely outside, please dress for the weather. In case of extreme weather, we will postpone until the following evening. A decision will be made by 4:00pm and all registered attendees will be notified.
This event is pay what you can, with a minimum suggested donation of $10 per person. Or, if you’d like to set up a monthly, recurring donation of $10/month, consider yourself all paid up for this and for some future events up our sleeves!
To sign up, please go HERE. IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS FOR RSVP: On the donation page in the “Area of Support” drop down, select “where it’s needed most” and in the comments section, write “Old Souls” and you’ll be added to the list! What does it mean to be an Old Soul?
Do you love old things? Do you find older buildings intriguing? Do you scroll through Instagram drooling over old properties and dreaming of how you’d fix them up? Have you ever wanted to get involved in preservation but feel like there are financial barriers or that you need a specific level of knowledge? Are you worried that because you rent or live in a newer home, there’s no role for you? Are you confused about what preservation means in a community that’s changing as rapidly as Greater Portland? If you answered yes to any of these questions, it sounds like you’re an Old Soul and we hope you’ll join us for this event. If you have any questions, send an email to Lucy or Kerrie to learn more.
