Recognized by The New Yorker as “furiously committed” and noted by the Cleveland Plain Dealer for “exceptional tonal focus and interpretive intensity,” the Miró Quartet is regarded as one of America’s most celebrated and dedicated string quartets.
For twenty-five years the Miró has performed a wide range of repertoire that pays homage to the legacy of the string quartet while looking forward to the future of chamber music. A recipient of the 2022 Sphinx Medal of Excellence, celebrated American soprano Karen Slack draws critical acclaim for her artistic versatility, charisma and entrepreneurial endeavors both in operatic roles and on the concert stage.
Hailed for possessing a voice of extraordinary beauty, a seamless legato and great dramatic depth, Slack has appeared with the Metropolitan Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Washington National Opera and San Francisco Opera. Miró and Slack come together in a unique program that includes compositions by Teresa Carreño, Florence Price, and George Walker, among others.
