[Portland, Maine, Aug. 15, 2019—] Tens of thousands of Portlanders and visitors to our fair city have been making their voices heard as they have their say (STILL TIME TO VOTE!) in the winners of the Best Of Portland Old Port Awards and each category has been pared to 10 finalists, one of whom will be confirmed as Portland’s favorite in categories from Best Maine Beer to Best Bookstores to Best Comedian.
Winners will be honored at the Best Of Portland Old Port Awards Party, held at Portland House of Music on Thursday, Sept. 5, 5 p.m. First up, happy hour networking, food trucks and socializing; then, awards for 20 selected categories will be presented by Cherry Lemonade at 6 p.m.
In a wide variety of fields and services key to our quality of life in southern Maine, the Best Of Portland Old Port Awards recognizes the hard work so many do to make Portland a great place to live. Show some love to favorite businesses, artisans, media personalities, and local causes! So far, more than 60,000 votes have been counted. 3,760 people participated in the nominations with a total of more than 30,000 entries.
Voting is easy! Anyone anywhere can participate and those interested can vote once per day per email address. Visit https://bit.ly/32svHHH and cast a lot for everything from lobster rolls to artists and best bartenders. The process is simple, easy and even fun.
“I’m as excited as anyone to see who wins some of these categories because I’ve got my own favorites, but I’m keeping them to myself,” says publisher Nathan O’Leary. “I’m also really looking forward to the awards night on Sept. 5. It’s going to be food, drinks, fun and having a good time at one of my favorite venues.”
Voters can choose from a list of carefully selected categories, including: Best Bar, Best Cocktail, Best Happy Hour, Best LGBTQ Bar, Best Maine Beer, Best Comedian, Best Tattoo Shop, Best TV News Anchor, Best Food Truck, Best Blog/Website, Best Seafood Market, Best Bank/Credit Union, Best Bookstore, Best New Business, and so many more.
