A new boutique hotel has quietly opened in Portland. The Weldon Hotel, situated at 54 York Street, occupies the former Baxter Academy for Technology and Science building. This “aparthotel” offers 13 one- and two-bedroom suites, co-working spaces, and a gym.
Owned by Chris DiMillo and Jay Hibbard, the hotel is managed by Fathom Cos., a Portland-based company known for developing the Press Hotel and Canopy by Hilton.
Each suite is fully furnished with high-end appliances from LG and Sonos sound systems. The bedrooms are adorned with linens from Evangeline and Cuddledown. The gym features premium fitness equipment from Gronk Fitness and Peloton.
