Pending approval from the town, Mast Landing plans to open their third location by the end of the year, which is expected to be a fairly seamless transition given the past use of the building and the Mast Landing team’s experience with their Westbrook and Freeport spaces. The impetus for expansion is rooted in the Mast Landing team’s focus on reaching local supporters in a tasting room environment.
In a statement from Mast Landing’s President and CEO, Ian Dorsey:
“As Mast Landing continues to grow, our goal has always been to do so in a smart & patient way. The SoPo tasting room will follow through on that vision by giving us a chance to get closer to folks who have long supported us. The space is great, and is well suited for us to jump in & make it our own – the vibrant neighborhood will allow us to connect with the community, and hopefully grow with it. This tasting room will be a hub of Mast Landing activity that helps expand the brewery’s reach while representing everything we’ve worked hard to create in Westbrook and Freeport.”
Once open, hours for the tasting room will run from Wednesday-Sunday. The tasting room will be offering Mast Landing’s own selection of beer, as well as hard cider, hard seltzer, wine, and periodic guest beers. To go with drinks, a menu of small food offerings is in the plans. 4-packs of beer to go will be available in a similar fashion to Mast Landing’s Westbrook and Freeport tasting rooms. Due to the limitations of the facility, beer served in South Portland will be brought in from the brewery’s main production facility in Westbrook as opposed to being brewed on site.
Mast Landing’s current Westbrook location at 920 Main Street is open 7 days a week starting at noon. Their Freeport location at 200 Main St. Suite 102 is open 7 days a week starting at 11 AM.
