Halloween Highlights
The businesses of Exchange Street have come together for their 2nd annual family-friendly trick or treating event!
Visit downtown Portland for this free event for children ages 0-10ish. Dress the entire family, including pets, in adorably scary costumes and haunt local businesses for a sweet treat.
Look for the orange posters and window signs to know which businesses are participating this year!

Prepare to face the “Sunday Scaries” head-on with a spine-tingling October tradition: Stephen King Sunday Scaries!
Every Sunday throughout this thrilling month, dive into the macabre world of Stephen King, the legendary author hailing from our very own Portland, at The Press Hotel. Best of all, these screenings are on the house!

Are you ready for the SPOOKIEST ride of the year?!
Join Portland Bike Party for the Halloween Spoketacular! Grab your bike, bring your friends, and ride through the moonlit streets while blasting spooky beats. The costume game is ON! And don’t forget to transform your trusty steed into a Halloween masterpiece. Think cobwebs, bats, pumpkins, and LED lights that scream “I’m here for the party!”
This is always the most EPIC ride of the year, so be prepared to show Portland how you roll!
The Halloween Ride has been moved to next Friday, 11/3.

Introducing BLOODBATH – Portland’s ultimate Halloween horror dance party!
Geno’s Rock Club is where the Halloween magic happens. Join for a spooktacular night of drag queens, burlesque, and eerie fun. Beats from the DJ will be all night long but the performances start at 9:30 PM. Performances by SAINT from Dragula Season 3, Arabella Ladessé, Cherry Lemonade, HEATHEN, and Amandaconda!
Due to the recent devastating events in Lewiston, an update from Geno’s has been released:
“We are waiting on reschedule confirmation from SAINT and the cast before setting an official date, but we are looking at December 1st or 2nd. All tickets will be valid for the new date. If you would rather, a refund request can be placed through the Eventbrite ticket link. All requests will be honored.”

Adults only this time around as the Children’s Museum and Theatre prepares for howling Halloween fun with their After Dark (21+) Halloween party!
A night-time event, and boo-bash, just for kids-at-heart*. After Dark festivities include adult trick-or-treating, creepy crawly snacks and festive elixirs (for purchase), hauntingly creative crafts, “fireside” scary stories, hoot and howl interactives and decor, and the debut performance of References starring Chartreuse Money and Bunny Wonderland.

A spooktacular night of Latin rhythms at Blue, one of Portland’s most intimate live music venue!
Join for the first-ever Latin Halloween Party in the State of Maine, and kick off ‘The Salsa Factory’ series by Signo Latino. DJ Javier will have you dancing all night to the hottest Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, and Urban Kizz beats. Blue will be providing delicious drinks and food to keep your energy high.
While costumes are not mandatory, it is highly encouraged that you to dress up! Prizes await the top two costumes of the night. Plus it’s a $15 entry for those without a costume, $10 for those with a costume!

Club veterans Michael Savant and Isirap come together this Halloween at Citrus to bring you House, Tech-House, Party Classics & Vocal Remixes of your favorite club anthems. Strong costumes will be awarded in the categories of Most Original, Best Individual and Best Group Costumes. So, get your alter ego ready and treat yourself to Portland’s best sound. Bring your team and come get Buried!

Get ready for a HOOTING good time at the Children’s Museum and Theatre this Halloween season!
Children and their caregivers are invited to a series of not-so-scary Halloween celebration events for children and their families. There is something for every feathered, furry, and festive friend!

“UPDATE 10/27: We have made the difficult decision to cancel our Hoot & Howl Celebration on Saturday, October 28th due to the evolving situation in Lewiston.
In an effort to serve our community during an incredibly challenging week, we are adding a warm and indoor Halloween event on Tuesday, October 31st from 4 pm – 6 pm.
Join us for indoor trick or treating, open-ended Halloween crafts, and free play in CMTM’s three floors of exhibits. Costumes encouraged but not required!”

The Halloween spirit has taken over Terrarium! 🎃🌿
Join Terrarium for a spooktacular evening of terrarium crafting where they’ll be building ‘cemetariums’ inside small glass orb jars. Your ticket includes everything you need, from rocks and substrate to moss, plants, and eerie Halloween figures. Create your very own miniature graveyard scene that will add a touch of Halloween charm to your space.
UPDATE-
In regards to recent events, Terrarium has free tea and coffee all weekend, and is a space to hang out, have a drink, and enjoy the plants.

HIVE returns to Free Street for an ALL NIGHT Halloween Banger!
Be prepared to dance all night, as they have gotten the permits to send it until the early morning. Music by DJ Gratitude, Tumbl Down b2b Kreitzman, Amrit, Max Dansky, Deja, Single Grind… and more to come! Evening includes a dance performance, production magic, and an immersive experience.
Costumes are a must (most sinful costume wins a special prize).

More information to come, but the 3rd annual East Bayside Halloween Fest is happening!
This is an all day-long, something-for-everyone festival to celebrate spooky season and the community. There will be drink and food specials, dance parties, costume contests, pumpkin carving and so much more. Line-up of events include a pumpkin carving contest at Maine Craft Distilling, creepy classic movies at Hardshore Distilling, needle felting at Port Fiber, and beats from DJ Isirap at Root Wild Kombucha.
Halloween Fest is in support of Maine Needs, a grassroots organization, powered by a growing collective of volunteers. Maine Needs strives to help individuals and families in Maine meet their basic, material needs by providing donated clothing, hygiene products, household items, and other necessities.

Get ready to show off your spooktacular style at their Costume Party. Dress to impress in your most creative and creepy costumes. And of course, you can expect a great selection of craft beers to quench your thirst.
