When Halloween falls on a Wednesday, the best thing you can do is celebrate the entire weekend before. And ya know what, it’s a sacrifice we’re willing to make.

Friday

Get your weekend started off right at Rising Tide Brewing Company with their fresh beer and fresh oysters provided by O’Oysters, promptly at 4 pm!

Popsickel is returning to the biggest boat in Casco Bay for an unforgettable trip into the unknown (better known as Casco Bay). Grab your best costume and join them for this Halloween Cruise boarding at 7:30 pm!

Dean Ford & The Beautiful Ones present Purple Brainz 6: A Halloween Tribute to Prince! This all-ages event is going on at the State Theatre starting at 9 pm!

Come party the night away with Portland’s kicking, flipping, and splitting drag queen Kat Walker for Drag It Up! Hallowqueen Masquerade at Empire Live Music & Events as she lip-syncs the house down, and shocks you into laughter with her sassy stand up comedy, starting at 9!

Saturday

Join Fyood Kitchen for the Spookiest Cooking Competition north of Salem! They’ll have all the essentials: costumes, candy, really challenging mystery baskets, and a multi-course dinner and dessert. They’ve got all the tricks, it’s up to you to make the treats at 6 pm!

You don’t want to miss the third annual Best Damn Halloween Party Ever, featuring two rockin’ bands, playing back and forth for you all night, right in the heart of the Old Port at Mariner’s Church Banquet Center! Costumes aren’t required but will be encouraged with a costume contest with prizes! This party starts at 7:30 pm!

The Awesome and Portland House of Music are proud to collaborate to raise money for breast cancer awareness at their Halloween Ball! A portion of the night’s proceeds will go to directly to the American Cancer Society, starting at 8!

Are you good… Or evil? Join Brian Boru, DJ JuLee, and her seven dwarves for their second annual Fairy Tale Ball, starting at 9 pm! As usual, this party has no cover!

Sunday

Portland Comic Expo will be underway at the Portland Exposition Building starting at 10 am! This comic book convention is held each year and is filled with comic dealers, artists, publishers, and cosplay.

The Thirsty Pig is throwing the Halloween party of our dreams… Dog-O-Ween. A $5 entry fee for each pup and $1 from the sale of every beer and food item will be donated to the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland! There will be a costume contest for dogs featuring four prize-winning categories: spookiest, funniest, punniest, and most creative! Pooches can enjoy fun prizes, a red carpet runway, and some very special judges! The party starts at 2 pm!

Calling all mini goblins and ghouls, join the Little Tap House for another edition of Bring Your Own Baby for a costume photo booth, happy hour specials, and seasonal drinks to mingle with other parents, family, and friends, starting at 3:30 pm!
