The Miranda Group is thrilled to announce their latest venture at the historic location of 375 Fore Street in the Old Port. The Henry, a traditional American public house and tavern, is set to open its doors in early summer, continuing the legacy of the iconic building that has been a significant part of Portland’s history.
In addition to The Henry, The Miranda Group is known for its diverse portfolio of successful establishments in Portland. Their other ventures include the critically acclaimed Blyth and Burrows, a sophisticated cocktail bar inspired by the city’s maritime history, Via Vecchia, an authentic Italian eatery, and the recently opened Papi, a vibrant Puerto Rican bar located on Exchange Street. The group’s dedication to creating unique and memorable experiences for their patrons has helped establish them as a leading force in Portland’s hospitality scene.
The Henry will occupy the space previously known as Bull Feeney’s, a beloved pub that has been a staple in the Old Port for over 20 years. The building itself has a rich history, having been rebuilt in 1867 after Portland’s Great Fire, and has previously served as a tailor shop and the Seamen’s Club.
The new establishment is named in honor of Portland’s own Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, a poet who celebrated the working-class spirit. The Henry aims to be a humble and timeless gathering place where people can come together to share stories, create memories, and enjoy good food and drinks in the hardworking seaside town.
Owner Josh Miranda acknowledges the legacy of Bull Feeney’s and hopes that The Henry will become an equally cherished part of the Old Port community. As the next stewards of this historic building, the Miranda Group is dedicated to preserving the treasured memories of the past while creating new ones for generations to come.
The Henry is expected to open its doors in early summer, inviting locals and visitors alike to experience the warmth and camaraderie of a traditional American public house and tavern.
The deal was brokered by Jackson Baumann and Steve Baumann of Compass Commercial Brokers.
