THE HEADLINER

In December 2018, at Nectar’s in Burlington, Vermont, three talented musicians—Russ Lawton, Scott Metzger, and Ray Paczkowski—joined forces for a night that marked the start of something special. Their seamless collaboration showcased a unique sound filled with tight grooves, technical skill, and undeniable energy. The enthusiastic crowd that evening got an early glimpse of what would become LaMP, a trio named after the initials of their last names. The following spring, the group headed to Sugarhouse Soundworks in Vermont for a focused recording session with sound engineer Roger Stauss, resulting in their self-titled debut EP.

STAFF PICK

The Blues Prophets, originally known as The New England Blues Prophets, formed in 1976, rehearsing in a Fairfield, Maine basement. At a time when live music thrived, they quickly gained a loyal following for their pure blues sound. Over the years, the band toured blues bars in Chicago, performed on stages in New Orleans, Washington, D.C., Boston, and across Maine and New England, perfecting their craft and cementing their legacy. Along the way, they had the honor of sharing the stage and jamming with legends like James Cotton, Otis Rush, Muddy Waters, Professor Longhair, Jimmy Johnson, and Bonnie Raitt.
