The Weekend Guide for Feb 23rd – 25th, 2018

The final February weekend is going out with a bang full of music, dogs, comedy, art, chocolate truffles, charity, and as always, amazing food.

Three of our favorite things, beer, rescue dogs, and Fridays. Put them all together and you’ve got Pints for Pups at Rising Tide Brewing Company from 5-7 pm! For every 10 oz beer poured from 5-7 pm, Rising Tide will donate $1 to Buddy Up Animal Society.

If live jazz gets you jazzed, Maine Craft Distilling is your spot tonight at 6! The Bruce Couillard Jazz Quartet will be performing live while signature drinks made with delicious house-crafted spirits are enjoyed.

Support talented MECA students at Brick South as they present their art pieces during a FREE reception from 6-9 pm in the musical company of Tyler Provenzano, a cash bar, and free refreshments!

You can’t go home after a night out without a Nightcap! Head over to Empire Live Music & Events for this part comedy show, part interview show, and part musical performance. This is the first installment of Nightcap!, which will happen every 4th Friday of the month, so enjoy FREE entry when it begins at 8:30 pm!

Kick your entertaining and your cooking up a notch with the help of Michael & Maria Dimillo of DiMillo Imports who will be hosting an Italian wine & olive oil tasting at Micucci’s from 1-4 pm!

The Winter Movie Series is a special event held by Allagash Brewing Company. All proceeds from the showing of Patagonia’s Fish People, beginning at 7 pm will be donated to displaced families affected by the 2017 Thomas fire.

Salvage BBQ will host Clyde Bisbee on their stage starting at 8:30 pm. Bring your BBQ bib and your favorite pair of dancing shoes to kick those late February chills.

The fourth Saturday of the months means it’s time to rock out with Wrong Side of the Tracks live at Bull Feeney’s while you enjoy delicious food, a few beers, and some whiskey like a proper Irishman. Music begins at 9:30 pm!

Satisfy your sweet tooth and learn a new skill with Dean’s Sweets! Learn how to make your own truffles with Dean himself (and of course enjoy lots of samples along the way). Class is in session starting at 2 pm!

Sure-fire way to warm up a cold February day– reggae music. Mainely Rhythms presents Stream Reggae ‘Relief for Dominica,’ a hurricane relief concert at Portland House of Music for their native island of Dominica. Doors open at 4 pm!
