The Weekend Guide: June 1st - June 3rd | Portland Old Port

The Weekend Guide for June 1st – June 3rd

This weekend is starting off with National Donut Day on the First Friday of June, so we’re pretty sure it’s going to be a great (and delicious) one.

Friday

It’s the first day of June and the First Friday Art Walk is back again! Head to the arts district and beyond for shows and programming at various different locations to enrich your life with some culture.

Keep the night going with Friday night jazz with the Bruce Couillard Trio at Maine Craft Distilling where you can enjoy some relaxing tunes and sip on a signature cocktail, a Maine Mule or a Blueshine Lemonade perhaps?

What do we love more than live music on the waterfront? Not much! Catch Northern Groove on Portland’s largest waterfront deck at the Porthole from 6-10 pm!

If it’s a laugh you’re looking for, head to St. Lawrence Arts to catch stand-up comedian and host of Redacted Tonight, Lee Camp and his fierce, funny, and well-informed brand of stand-up comedy starting at 7 pm.

Saturday

DONUTS & FREE YOGA all in one? Sign us up. Join Be Well and Eighty8 Donuts (formerly Urban Sugar) for Downdog & Donuts on Portland’s gorgeous Eastern Prom for a powerful all levels flow with local instructor Kait Johnson and a sweet treat post-flow.

Prime the Pump at The Thirsty Pig begins at 2 pm and will feature local links & drinks, and three of Portland’s finest singer/songwriters: Clara Junken, Ryan Halliburton, and Andrea Fawcett!

Take a journey around Portland’s East End with sommelier Erica Archer of Wine Wise Events for a tour and tastings of some of the cities best French Reds. The tour begins at 2:45 pm and ends with you having much more impressive wine knowledge at the next dinner party.

Portland’s favorite 80’s cover band, The Awesome is hitting the Portland House of Music & Events at 8 pm to get your Saturday night out started right. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 day of!

Sunday

Join Po’ Boys and Pickles for their Annual Crawfish Boil with live music by OC and the Offbeats. Come at noon and be ready to suck some heads!

Get a little fanciness in your life with Caviar Sunday at The Shop, where you can try a tasting flight featuring 15 grams of Island Creek’s Sterling Caviar for $18, starting at noon!

No better way to ease back into the flow of your work week than with a cold beer and live music on the tar patio at Rising Tide! Admission is free and beer will be flowing from 12-5 pm.
