The Weekend Guide for September 29th – October 1st, 2017

After a week-long Indian Summer, it’s time to make like the weather and cool things down this weekend with some beverages, great food, and fun in the Old Port.

Friday

Rising Tide and O’Oysters are collaborating to bring you the ultimate Happy Hour on this crisp Fall Friday. Don’t be shellfish, bring your friends to enjoy a cold beer, fresh oysters, and a shucking good time at Rising Tide from 4-7.

If you’d like to bring yourself to a more tropical climate, head on down to Rhum! $1 oysters and $6 drink specials from 4-7… It truly is the happiest hour in town!

Temperatures may be dropping but it’s never too cold to enjoy some live music on the Porthole deck! Ragged Jack will take the stage from 5:30.

Equality Maine is hosting a benefit Punk show at Urban Farm Fermentory! Doors open at 7:30 and admission is just a $5 donation for the cause! Performers include local bands Classy On Occasion, Uncle Spudd, No Good, Adulting, and The Keeper Class!

If you’re in search of comedic relief from a long week, look no further than the State Theatre tonight! Tom Segura is making a stop there at 8 pm on his No Teeth No Entry Tour with special guest Josh Potter!

Saturday

Elizabeth April Yoga & Barre is hosting a FREE yoga class at the Broken Crow Collective! This session is open to all levels and all people, the only catch is, you’ll have to be up early for this 9:30 am session!

Take an afternoon stroll for a good cause! Walk to Feed the Hungry from 2-5pm on the Back Cove Trail with the Buddhist Global Relief Foundation and partner Preble Street who prepare 1000 meals a day in Portland!

Probably don’t need to tell you twice, but don’t miss the Fried Chicken & Waffle Pop-Up Dinner with Eaux from 5-7pm at A&C Grocery! Also featured- wine tasting the Devenish Wines!

Get your bowl on at Bayside Bowl while you rock out to Boston-based Tiger Bomb and Watts, as well as The Connection hailing from Rochester, New Hampshire! Music starts at 8:30!

Sunday

Back at it again at Rising Tide for their 7th Anniversary Party! Starting at 12 pm, this party will feature a release of their sour fruited ale aged in oak, Pleiades, a pig and lamb roast with Locally Sauced, fresh coffee and pies from Tandem Coffee, and live music all day!

It’s apple season and that means Apple Cyser is now being poured at HoneyMaker! This seasonal favorite is available at both the Portland and Kennebunk tasting rooms for tasting and purchasing to go!

The Portland Harvest Festival starts at 12:30 pm in Deering Oaks Park! This free community event will feature activities for all ages, live music, free food, giveaways, horse & wagon rides, and more!

There’s no better place to rid yourself of a Sunday hangover than Slab (they open up at 3)! The Hangover Wedge is a fan favorite, but that handheld Street Lasagna, though… And if you’re too hungover to move, you can now order Slab via 2DineIn and have it delivered right to your couch (or your door, but close enough)!
