Art in Bloom | Portland Museum of Art | March 9th – 13th
Spring has sprung at the Portland Museum of Art! Featuring floral work by designers, artists, farmers, and florists from across southern Maine, the museum comes alive with fragrant blooms, extravagant displays, and incredible floral installations of all types—each inspired by an artwork from the museum’s collection.
Dark Star Orchestra | State Theatre | 6:30pm (Repeats March 12th, 2022)
Performing to critical acclaim for over 20 years and over 3000 shows, Dark Star Orchestra continues the Grateful Dead live concert experience right here in Portland! Their shows are built off the Dead’s extensive catalog and the talent of these seven fine musicians! Honoring both the band and the fans, Dark Star Orchestra’s members seek out the unique style and sound of each era while simultaneously offering their own informed improvisations. Tickets here.
Gladys Knight| Merrill Auditorium | 8:00pm
We heard it through the grapevine that the great ones endure, and Gladys Knight has long been one of the greatest. Very few singers over the last fifty years have matched her unassailable artistry. This seven-time Grammy winner has enjoyed #1 hits in Pop, Gospel, R&B and Adult Contemporary, and has triumphed in film, television, and live performance. Tickets here.
Slurp Madness | Maine Oyster Company + SoPo Seafood Market and Raw Bar | March 11th – 26th
Partnering with their talented friends at Maine Oyster Company, Maine Oyster Trail, and Liquid Riot, SoPo Seafood is launching a unique and fun 2-week Maine oyster event to support 12 wonderful Maine Oyster Farms. The event will include a “Slup Madness” card and over the 2 week period visit, slurp & stamp out all 12 farms if you can! The ultimate slurpers (if that’s what you want to call them) will redeem a fully stamped card for perhaps a shucking knife, some free oysters, a specialty Liquid Riot Pearl & more!
Crave | Multiple Locations | March 1st – March 12th
A big batch of chefs, bakers, baristas, and chocolatiers are still serving up their special coffee-centric creations as part of Maine Restaurant Week. No tickets are required. Just visit the participating locations and try the mouth-watering items made with Coffee By Design coffee. Each participating location is sharing $1 from each item sold with Preble Street!

25-year-old guitar phenom and innovative songwriter, Marcus King returns to Portland! Founded in Greenville, South Carolina in 2013, The Marcus King Band is his tight-knit group featuring Drummer Jack Ryan, bass player Stephen Campbell, trumpeter/trombonist Justin Johnson, sax/steel guitarist Dean Mitchell along with Marcus. Milo the Magnificent is a highly engaging puppet show about an aspiring magician. This wordless comedy, inspired by turn of the century vaudeville entertainers, is as highly physical as it is charming. For the first installment, ARME and Sun Tiki are proud to present Portland’s very own national touring theatrical art-punk band, The Bumbling Woohas (full band set!) with special guests Exit 18 from Boston, MA, and lucid elephants from Northern New Hampshire.
