Friday, May 19th– This weekend is more than just a few days off, it’s filled with good cause! You will have plenty of chances to not only feel good this weekend but DO good. There is something for everyone to begin integrating themselves into being an active part of this city. We have animals, exercise, beers, acrobats, music, networking and fundraising. Portland to the core!
Friday will kick off the weekend when ReVision and Portland Trails come together at 2pm for a “Clean-Up Day.” First we will meet in the Back Cove Trail parking lot and then they invite us to do the 5k as a run or walk to help make Portland a better place, literally, because whether you walk or run, you will carry gloves and a trash bag to clean up the infamous loop.
Do you know anyone who is thinking about adopting man’s best friend? The Fish & Bone will host the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland from 3-5pm. Because it’s located right on Commercial Street in Portland you can stop in and see hello to our four legged friends and show them some love, don’t forget to tell your friends about Puppy Adoption Day, free kisses!
At 4pm Hops for Hope will begin at Rising Tide Brewery. We’ve mentioned that it is Mental Health Awareness Month but May is also ALS Awareness Month. The Hope-JG Foundation will be here raising money for those with families with ALS. In particular they highlight proceeds going to the expensive needs of those who have been diagnosed, including portable wheelchair ramps and other equipment for the families. It is estimated that 20,000 Americans live with ALS, if today you cannot attend, you can still help those people because every cent matters and donations will be accepted here: https://www.hope-jg.org/copy-of-donate
Hang in the Old Port tonight to celebrate the success!

Food from B.good, surprise gift bags, and parking is all FREE! Learn more about MSM here: www.mainesupportingmaine.com
