Friday the 11th
Prairie Baking Co. Pop-Up | Maine & Loire | 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Prairie Baking Company will be set up at Maine and Loire on Fridays this November (except the Friday after Thanksgiving) for a little pastry happy hour from 4 – 6 pm! There will be a mix of savory and sweet treats for your afternoon snacking pleasure. Come say hi, grab a snack and a glass (or a bottle) of wine and bask in the Washington Avenue sunset glow!
Place Cards & Pints: Modern Calligraphy | Austin Street Brewery | 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM
Join Hemlock Ridge Designs at Austin Street Brewery for craft beer and modern calligraphy for beginners. In this workshop you’ll be learning an introduction to modern calligraphy with a pointed dip pen and ink. Lauren will cover all the basics and get you ready to add those special lettered details to all your Thanksgiving holiday tables with place cards, menus, food labels, bar carts and more! Class includes 1.5 hours of instruction and demonstration, a beginner’s calligraphy kit (two nibs, black ink pot, 2 letter guides, tracing paper and straight pen holder), and all materials to write on. Walk to End Alzheimer’s Celebration | Stroudwater Distillery | 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Stroudwater Distillery invites all to join the fight to end Alzheimer’s! The event will feature a silent auction, drink specials, announcements of top fundraising teams, and live music by pianist, multi-genre composer, and music educator, Robert Gans. Cranksgiving 2022 | Portland, Maine | 11:o0 AM – 2:00 PM
Cranksgiving is a food drive on two wheels. Part bike ride, part madcap scavenger hunt. All you need is a bicycle, a lock and a bag! Pedal the streets and trails of your town as you search for specific ingredients that make up a Thanksgiving dinner. Once you’ve collected all items and arrived at the finish, this feast will be donated to those in need. Cranksgiving is a national event that occurs in over 100 cities across the United States and Canada. This event is FREE, but you’ll need $15-$20 to purchase food. Donations will support Westbrook, Food Pantry.
Bella’s Bartok at Portland House of Music & Events | PHOME | 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM
All little children grow up, one day — all except the bedazzled and glittered band of Bella’s Bartok. Inspired by elements of Vaudeville, centuries of street performance, and an unyielding drive to promote camaraderie, Bella’s Bartok delivers a passionate kaleidoscope of sound dubbed as “foot stomping freak folk”. The songs are born of Americana and folk music of their immigrant grandparents, blended with the joy of a particular brand of pop sensibility. From quiet reflections on loss, to the howl of justice in four-part harmony, Bella’s Bartok sonically and lyrically delivers a sweaty, soulful dance-party that is sure to leave the audience happily breathless. Scissorfight & Murcielago | Sun Tiki Studios | 8:00 PM
Scissorfight formed in 1995 in the town of Portsmouth. The original lineup consisted of guitarist Jay Fortin, bassist Paul Jarvis, and drummer Joel Muzzey. Blending extreme genres such as grindcore and post-hardcore, the band hired vocalist Ironlung to “stand there and look scary.” The band played at River Rave festival, where they performed with Cypress Hill and Stone Temple Pilots. They released an EP of covers entitled Piscataqua soon after, and were featured on MTV’s “You Hear It First” segment. Scissorfight was named “best hard rock band” at the Boston Music Awards in 2003 and 2004. Tickets here.

The best local makers, artists, artisans, farms, vintage goods and craftspeople in the state, all in one place. The Maker’s Market series is at it again this Sunday and you know the drill! Mimosas and Bloody Marys available! Maker’s Market will be attempting to set a new mimosa record this Sunday, so find some friends and come do your part to support your local bartenders.
Joyswich Disc Putt Bowling Tourney | Bayside Bowl | 1:00 PM – 4:30 PM
Joyswich Putting League is getting ready for Winter League by putting on a Putt Bowling Tournament at Bayside Bowl. They will be on the Mezzanine throwing plastic for big prizes. Round robin format. Unlike League, this will consist of 2-person teams as opposed to 4, but carry the same rules as League. Limited slots open. First come first in.
Turkey Trot Tune Up | Starting Line | 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Join the Starting Line Run Studio for the 1st Annual Turkey Trot Tune Up 5K to celebrate their 3rd Anniversary! Shake off those race cob webs before the Turkey Trot races come through later in the month and enjoy a lovely run around Back Cove. They will be serving up a post race pancake breakfast too as part of the anniversary celebration. 100% of race proceeds will be donated to their Feed Kids Partners, Full Plates, Full Potential! They will also be collecting gently used clothing items for a local shelter.
5th Annual Bramhall Square Tree Lighting | Bramhall Square| 6:30 PM – 7:00 PM
