- Coals Bayside unexpectedly announced its closure on social media. Learn more.
- Thistle & Grouse, is for sale. Thistle & Grouse opened on December 1st, 2023 and has closed its doors with the hopes of selling the restaurant. Learn more.
- After 8 and a half years, Sisters Gourmet Deli has permanently closed their Portland location in Monument Square. Learn more.
Insomnia Cookies will be opening its first Maine location in the Old Port at 53 Wharf Street. Learn more.
- Sur Lie celebrated ten years this past weekend.

New Additions
- Crispy Gai now has daily happy hour from 11am – 3pm. Includes $1 oysters and $5 mimosas.
- Lil Chippy is running happy hour daily from 3pm – 5pm. Includes deals on oysters, beer and hot fish.
- LFK and Cushnoc Brewing Co. are hosting Cushnoctober Fest on Thursday, October 3rd.
- Leisure Time Cocktail is hosting a Bar-B-Que Party on Saturday, October 5th.
- Austin Street Brewery is hosting a Food Truck Festival on Friday, October 11th. Food trucks, live music, to-go specials and a cornhole tournament hosted by Port City Cornhole. Food trucks include Black Salt Dining, Eighty 8 Donuts, The Muthah Truckah, and Vintage Dogs Maine.
Ongoing Events
- Batson River Brewing & Distilling’s Oktoberfest celebrations have started and will run through Sunday, October 6th. Each of the three locations will have German bites and beer available – including a Fiestbier, Beer Bratwurst, a German Vesper Board, and more. View menu.
- Oktoberfest at Novare Res Bier Cafe will run from Saturday, September 21st – Sunday, October 6th. An authentic tribute to Munich’s Oktoberfest celebration, Novare Res will have a rotating list of German Oktoberfest lagers, Festbiers, and Marzens along with some local autumnal options served by the .5L mug and 1L maß. A full menu of German-inspired festival fare as well.
- Alto Terrace Bar + Kitchen is celebrating Cambria’s birthday on October 6th with fun food specials available for brunch and dinner, in addition to, an Oktoberfest style dinner on Saturday, October 12th. View Menus.
Après will be hosting their annual Apple Tasting on Thursday, October 10th from 4pm – 7pm. They’ll have bushels of heirloom, orchard exclusive, and house preferred local fruits on display for tasting with guidance from their passionate team, including the cidermakers ready to talk shop, apples, apple growing and apple harvesting.
Freedom’s Edge Cider Co. Fresh Pressed Harvest Fest
- Join Freedom’s Edge Cider for the Fresh Pressed Harvest Fest on Saturday, October 19th. More details to come but will include live apple pressing, apple Olympics, live music, local makers, fundraising, raffles, and food trucks.
- Papi will be hosting Bodega Culture in the coming weeks, this time with a Halloween twist. The pop-up will be inspired by late-night bodega runs with food and drinks. More to come.
