The Weekend Guide for Jan 12th – 14th, 2018

With the Maine Brewers’ Guild back in town, the weather isn’t the only thing heating up in the Old Port this weekend!

Friday

Stop by Rosemont Market and Bakery on Munjoy Hill for your weekend snacks and groceries and enjoy free wine tastings while you shop from 4-6 pm!

Good on Exchange Street is hosting an open stage for the Maine Academy of Modern Music kids and teens! For $5 admission, listen as local students perform live and show off their skills, while you eat fresh, local, and delicious foods, starting at 6 pm.

The music continues at Oxbow Blending & Bottling (this time it’s just for the adults) with Farmhouse Fridays- A Night of Dance Jamz featuring Chris Gauthier and Nicotine bringing the house, funk, and disco.

Casco Bay Sports is celebrating their 10 year anniversary at Brian Boru, featuring a Happy Hour full of highlight videos, music by The Awesome! And drink specials all night. This event is FREE for all CBS participants!

Saturday

If you’ve always wanted to try Pilates, now is your chance! Springboard Pilates is hosting a FREE Introduction to Pilates Workshop at 10 am. You’ll be introduced to the history and fundamentals of Pilates, learn basic exercises, and see how Pilates can become part of your wellness journey!

The Maine Brewers’ Guild is back for a Winter Session! Starting at 11:30 am for VIPs and 12:30 for general admission, join over 45 Maine brewers for fresh beer, live music, plenty of food, and a chance to pick the brains of the makers of your favorite Maine brews.

The Thirsty Pig is celebrating their Lucky Number 7th anniversary! Celebrate 7 years of great food and great beers, with more great food and more great beers (as well as live music by Jim Betts and Jake Hill).

Get your bowl on to live music at Bayside Bowl for POP NITE with Greg Allen’s Fringe Religion, Tiger Bomb, and Pop Gun. With no cover, drink specials, craft beers, dancing, and dining, this is an event you don’t want to miss!

Sunday

Run off all the beer from the night before by joining the Thick Quad Squad for Sunday Runday! Per usual- they’ll meet at Coffee By Design in East Bayside at 8:30 am, rain or shine!

Tandem Coffee is winding it down after an exciting weekend and starting a different kind of book club. For this one, there are no assigned books. Just show up at 2 pm with a book, order your food or drinks, share what you’re reading with other club members, and take an hour to quietly read. All are welcome to join the club!

Enjoy the Jazz, Blues, and Americana musical talents of Bess Jacques & The Strays at MJ’s Wine Bar from 7-9, with a few glasses of wine and a cheese plate to chase off the Sunday scaries.

End your weekend with some comedic relief before the work week begins at Sunday Night Stand Up featuring Brian Barganier. Doors open at 8 pm and admission is just $5!
