It’s a First Friday Weekend AND the first weekend of Maine Restaurant week so we’re pretty sure the chances of getting bored and/or hungry are slim to none.
Friday
MRW will be alive and well at the Little Tap House! Starting at 11 am, enjoy delicious lunch specials that are sure to perk up any lunch break.
The first Friday of the month means you can catch the best of Portland’s arts and cultural scene at varying venues throughout the city for the First Friday Art Walk to enjoy great food and beverages, art, and some shopping!
The Sunaana 2-day music and craft beer festival begins at 6 pm! Hear sounds you’ve never heard before by varying artists and drink craft beers from around the country that you may have never tried before, poured straight out of the Maine Beer Box at this all-ages event!
Head over to The Thirsty Pig for a night of auditory and visual stimulation with 32French and special guest Mike Clouds bringing the rugged beats and a live art presentation by CP Sketch. As always homemade sausages and the areas best craft brews will be on deck as well!
Saturday
Petite Jacqueline is joining in on the MRW fun with multi-course menus for both lunch & brunch and dinner! You’d be doing yourself an injustice by not trying their crepes before the week is done.
Bunker Brunch & Bluegrass may just be the best alliteration we’ve ever heard. Head to Bunker Brewing Co. for brunch served by Mashed starting at noon, and a live performance by the Can Kickers (3-6 pm).
A unique way to spend your afternoon would be watching 14 different companies interpret and perform a scene from A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Urban Farm Fermentory, complete with clowning, ritual, shadow puppets, wrestling matches, dungeons, dragons, cheese, drinking games, and folk music. Performances at 2 pm and 7 pm!
Keep the warm/summery vibes coming with reggae artist J Boog on his LOE Tour with special guests Jesse Royal & Etana at Aura at 9 pm!
Sunday
Learn a thing or two about brewing coffee, the right way, at Tandem Coffee, starting at 10 am! Each class includes a bag of coffee, recipe sheets, and $10 off any brewing equipment you purchase before or during the class.
Noon. Coffee By Design (1 Diamond Street). Eating. Drinking. The event is called CRAVE and those in attendance include Vena’s Fizz House, Walter’s, The Frisky Whisk, Dean’s Sweets, Cakes by Babbs, Foley’s Cakes, Landry’s Confections, and baristas + bites, to bring you a very sweet, booze-filled (hello, coffee cocktails) Sunday of a good time.
Pick a Room, any Room… The Rooms Restaurants (The Corner Room, Boone’s Fish House, The Front Room, and The Grill Room) will each feature their own three-course menus for dinner starting at 5 pm through each night of MRW!
