The Old Port Sea Grill, opened in the fall of 2002, is located in the heart of Portland’s historic Old Port district. Our modern interior features a custom concrete bar, a large lounge area that seats up to 50 people, a dining room that can accommodate up to 60 guests, and features a 330 gallon salt water fish tank.

The seafood-driven menu focuses on a variety of local and imported fresh fish and shellfish, with an emphasis on east coast cold water oysters and other raw bar offerings. Paired with a food-friendly wine list, local craft-style beers on draft and an extensive cocktail program to make for an exciting dining experience.

For our last night in Maine we wanted to try another nice restaurant. We were not disappointed with this choice. We started with the Herb Baked Focaccia bread with whipped maple butter. It was a fairly small loaf for $9. It was very good but could have easily been a complimentary item or at best $5.We also ordered four shrimp for a small cocktail appetizer. It was fresh and amazing. $3.5 per shrimp. We had twin lazy lobster tails for $72. It was around $53 or so for one lobster so it makes sense to get two. It came with 5 or 6 little neck clams which I was told were pretty good. Also served with green beans and some root veggies. This was my wide favorite meal of our trip.I had the lobster linguine. The lobster was butter poached and tender but still slightly chewy. It came in a Peruvian pepper cream sauce. The sauce was very tasty but if I'm being honest they were heavy handed with it and it took away drop the dish a bit. I would order again but ask for the sauce to be on the side or lighter. I think this was around $42 and worth every bit of that.We did have some before dinner drinks which were tasty. I had a peach inspired bourbon drink which was amazing and also an odd menu pear inspired riff on an old fashioned. I believe it is being added to the fall menu and served with Four Roses. My wife had a champagne drink of sorts.Overall, I give Old Port a high recommendationWe loved it here and hope others do as well.

We had such a great day celebrating our 15 year anniversary on a day trip to Maine. This bar was so very well designed and it had a fun atmosphere. The Calamari was so yum and the remoulade sauce and jalapenos were on another level. My drink was nice and strong and it was a great place to stop and just be. My husband tried a blueberry beer that he was sceptical to try, but the bartender was knowledgeable and advised wisely. He loved it, not too fruity just a dash.

Old Port was one of the recommendations from a local resident when asked about good places to get lobster in town. I'm a long-haul driver and this is only my 2nd time to Maine in my 13 year career. So, I wanted LOBSTER!Come early. I arrived about 7pm and they were still a bit busy. It took the hostess a few minutes to seat me. Once seated, it took my server about 7-10 minutes to greet me. Again, they were busy; so, I understood. Once the service started, everything was smooth sailing.I started off with the clam chowder. You could say it was heaven in a bowl, but that might not do it enough justice. If you're coming here with the idea of getting a full lobster that you crack yourself, you'll need to order the lobster dinner. It will come with clams.I made the mistake of ordering the chilled lobster based on my own misunderstanding. I would recommend putting some sort of note on the menus to denote this to avoid further misunderstandings. In this case, my "mistake" turned out quite nicely. The lobster was perfect even if the portion seemed small. Still, I got what I came for even if it wasn't in the form I was mentally picturing.Upon questioning, Justin (the Gen Manager) explained that it's the same amount of meat from a 1.25 lb lobster that's served. Essentially, you get all that lobster goodness with none of the work it takes to get it.The evening was finished off with their Ricotta Crostini. One might not picture a bread dish as a desert but, surprisingly, this one works as such. The apple slices paired nicely with the drizzled honey which balanced elegantly with the ricotta cheese.Over all, I enjoyed my visit and will consider coming back if ever I find myself in Portland again. The staff was awesome and the setting was top notch.

Had lunch here with my daughter. It was our very first visit to Maine. We asked to be seated outside and was told so politely that it was quite okay. We waited a little while for the food but that’s totally understandable because there were a lot of customers for lunch. Our waitress was awesome so polite. We love this place. Hope to visit here again on our next visit.
