I really like the hotel first the service in reception was always excelent always willing to help, receptiok was clean nice and warm and breakfast was simple but delicious I loved the Coffee bar was open 24/7 with. The pool was nice and warm enough open until 11 pm thats really cool, the shower in the pool needs maintainance. Fitness área suprised me had a lot of different equiptment just 👌 perfect, the room was clean and confortable, love that has a bath tube. Only issue is that you can hear everything in thr other room.

I will start off with the bad, but there is also good. Housekeeping needs to be completely retrained. The shower leaked water out into the hallway, and I’m lucky that I didn’t slip and seriously hurt myself. When I mopped up the water, the towel was completely stained in dirt which means that housekeeping is not cleaning this floor, which is really gross. I opened up the sofa bed and there was somebody’s food and food wrappers inside and around it. Just not acceptable for a hotel room not to be thoroughly clean. I also pulled out a blanket and that was covered in somebody else’s hair . Yeah eww. I understand and can tell they put a lot of money into redoing this historical building, but something needs to be done about the windows locking and weatherproofing, but more importantly the doors to the hallway allow every single ounce of noise to come right through because they are not fitted properly as you could see in the picture. It is extremely loud in the rooms because there are large gaps on all four sides of the doors. The maids & guests make a very large amount of noise in the hallways. There is a lot of banging and slamming first thing in the morning. On a positive note the customer service at the front desk and the valet are exceptional. Extremely professional and hospitality driven. Christian and Zach in the valet department are wonderful and the women at the front desk are very accommodating.Update: although I was not happy with the housekeeping and some of the guests slamming doors repeatedly, I really have to say honestly that I will indeed stay here again. The location was just undeniable. The front desk treated me so so well and let me change rooms when I wasn’t happy. They went above and beyond to make sure that I had a good stay. Just the convenience of this hotel and the history that goes with it have changed my mind and I will definitely stay here again. As stated before the one and only thing I was really unhappy with was the housekeeping, but the hotel overall is excellent and I’ll be coming back.

Excellent location, old armory converted to hotel with day spa. Not so much a family hotel, more for couples of any age. Great breakfast restaurant. Amazing kind staff. They close the hot tub & saunas at 6pm, it used to be open later for guests. Oh well. At least hope that means heavy cleaning happening in those areas at night as it has needed more attention to cleaning, esp hot tub. This hotel is the only one that has a hot tub with nice tile and the temperature is actually hot enough. I would return. I'm sure they will keep improving.

I recently stayed at the Portland Regency Hotel & Spa and had a delightful experience. The location is fantastic, making it easy to explore the local area. The hotel itself is charming, with a quaint and inviting atmosphere. One of the highlights was the delicious food available at the hotel. Whether it was breakfast, lunch, or dinner, every meal was a treat. The quality and variety of the dishes were impressive, making dining at the hotel a pleasure. However, I wouldn't recommend this hotel for families with young children. The spa is only available to guests 16 and older, so we weren't able to use it during our stay. While this isn't a fault of the hotel, it's something to keep in mind if you're traveling with kids.Overall, the Portland Regency Hotel & Spa is a wonderful choice for adults looking for a relaxing and enjoyable stay with great amenities and dining options.

We spent four lovely days unwinding at this unique, historic, comfortable hotel. The first-class service includes doormen, cocktail hour, a complimentary shuttle, a lovely outdoor cafe, and a luxurious spa with a steam room, sauna, massages, facials--the works. The neighborhood is very walkable, with local coffee shops and pubs, fine dining restaurants, boutiques, historic sites, the waterfront, and Portland's excellent art museum all within a few blocks. We will be back!

This place is amazing! Very welcoming and the customer service is the best! One thing I noticed is the staff are dressed very professionally! The hotel itself has a special charm that reminds me of days gone by ❤️. No key cards to be used here, which I love! Easy walk to downtown stores and restaurants. Would definitely recommend and would love to return someday!

My husband and I started at the Portland Regency for one night after a week driving the coast. We really like the history of the building and the location couldn't be beat for our short stay.We didn't access the food or dining but the rooms were spacious and clean and really nicely decorated. We would definitely stay again

I won the Portland Old Port Valentine’s Day contest, and a nights stay at the Portland Regency was included in the prize package. We stayed the night of 2/16/24. The building is a classic beauty. It’s tucked away conveniently in the Portland Old Port, making it easy to walk around the city for dining, sight seeing, and shopping. The service at the Regency was excellent, the food was amazing to the eye and the palate, and and the employees were very friendly and helpful. The room was large, clean, and comfortable. We would definitely recommend staying at the Portland Regency Hotel and Spa.

My friend and I recently treated ourselves to a one-night stay at the Regency for a spa getaway with our kids, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. The check-in process was seamless, thanks to Kyle's kindness and efficiency in helping us make reservations. Our King rooms were incredibly comfortable—I suffer from chronic illness and struggle with sleep, but I found the bed exceptionally cozy. The balconies overlooking the city, with a glimpse of the ocean, provided a serene backdrop, especially at night with the soothing sounds of seagulls and city lights.Christian, our valet attendant, went above and beyond to make our stay memorable with his exceptional attentiveness and professionalism—we couldn't have been more pleased. And our spa experience, booked with April, was nothing short of blissful. She ensured every moment was special and relaxing, truly delivering a top-notch spa experience.I would wholeheartedly recommend the Regency for a getaway retreat. It exceeded our expectations in every way and I would gladly return for another stay without hesitation.

What a great hotel! We had an amazing anniversary weekend here. All of the staff were super friendly and helpful. Room was clean and welcoming. On site amenities and services were on point. Everything we wanted to do was within walking distance even in the cold. We will definitely be back.

Stayed at the Portland Regency Hotel & Spa as a one night stop over on our way down to Boston. The location of this property is outstanding. It sits right in the heart of Portland Maine and walking distance to all of the main shops and restaurants in the area. The rooms and lobby could use a slight refresh at this point, but other than that, the service here was great from the front of the house and at the restaurant during our short stay. We would definitely return to this property again.

Gorgeous hotel with an admirable history! Very clean, spacious rooms with great beds. We got a free room upgrade which was really nice and had a balcony! Even though it was really cold out, we enjoyed the balcony quite a lot because of the amazing view!!The location of this hotel is just perfect. You can pretty much walk anywhere in Old Port from here and won’t have to worry about parking. We also tried the SPA which I highly recommend, massages are just 1000/10.Staff was flawless! Will come back next time for sure!!

My husband and I were lucky enough to snag the last room available this past weekend and I'm extremely glad we did! Location is perfect, we took advantage of the valet so we didn't have to find parking, and walked everywhere. The staff was friendly and informative. We didn't visit the restaurants because we wanted to experience the town, but next time we will. The best aspect by far was the spa! Danielle was very kind and helpful. Cynthia and Lauren (male) gave us the best massages, definitely opt for the 80 minute, it was pure bliss and relaxation. Using the jacuzzi, sauna and steam was also really nice. If you stay here and don't take advantage of this, then you're missing out!

I had the pleasure of staying at the Portland Regency Hotel last week for a business conference. Every aspect of my stay was completely satisfying from the welcome I received at the front entrance to the send off when I left. The front desk was friendly and efficient. The room was clean, comfortable and well appointed. Minor inconvenience at the time was one of the elevators was being serviced, but that did not matter as my room was on the third floor and meetings were on the second or first so it was quicker to just take the stairs. Our lunches were served in buffet style and the food was very good. I did not have occasion to dine in the restaurant on site. After I left the hotel I discovered that I had left my conference tote bag behind. I called the hotel and they had the bag right in the office. They boxed it up and sent it to me by FedEx, I had it within days. I greatly appreciate that extra service. I don't know if I will have the opportunity to stay at the Portland Regency again, but I certainly hope so. I just can't say enough good things about the wonderful staff and terrific service provided here and highly recommend it.

I visit Portland ME several times a year. I always enjoy my stay at the Portland Regency Hotel and Spa. The accomodations are superb. The amenities are ample. The service is spot on and all at an affordable price. The location in Old Port allows you to walk to the best restaurants. Includes free valet parking.

I was looking for an Old Port hotel with a spa for a one-night getaway on my wife's birthday. We had a great stay. The rates were at a low off-season level, which was nice. Anyway, check-in was easy and attentive. We never mentioned it was her birthday except once in a side conversation and we were surprised to find a hand-written note in our room with treats. We enjoyed the included steam room and Jacuzzi and had brunch in their restaurant which was quite good. We will come back for sure.

Absolutely everything was excellent! Friendly staff, clean saunas and steam rooms, large gym, amazing location. First time at this hotel, and am definitely coming back!

The rooms were large, clean and I enjoyed my stay but felt they were a little pricey. I attended a wedding which was great but the vegetarian dish that was served left a lot to be desired. The appetizers served were good and if I knew how bad the entree was going to be I would have eaten more of the appetizers.

My girlfriend and I both treated ourselves to a massage at the hotel spa and were lucky enough toneork with John who was a stellar masseuse. He was incredibly professional, a pleasure to chat with and did and amazing job of tailoring the massage based on target areas/info we provided. I'd highly recommend the Regency Spa and specifically John! I'll be coming back 😁

I wish this were a trip I made more often so I could come back to this hotel! I felt very well cared for the entire time. The room was amazing with beautiful historic features, a modern very comfy bed, and cable. It was very clean with great amenities and concierge was incredibly helpful. We even got a ride to and from the airport and they offered to take us anywhere else in Portland we needed as well.I also recommend the spa for a massage, the restaurant for breakfast, and the Armory lounge for steak and drinks.I'm excited to go back!

If you're going to spend time in Portland than get a room at the Regency. It's beautiful, luxurious, and historic while in a great spot downtown. The staff were all nice. The amenities of the spa, the fitness center, the Armory Longue for dinner, and Eighteen95 for breakfast, we didn't want to leave this place. It's pricey but totally worth the cost. My wife and I came here for our honeymoon and had a large suite with a jacuzzi tub, fireplace, and king size bed. This was fancy living.

After calling many "pet friendly" hotels in the area NONE of them accepted rabbits. I was so grateful that this hotel allowed us to bring my pet bunny along for the trip. I would like to emphasize that I am a VERY responsible pet owner and I do not allow my pets to trash any hotel rooms that I stay at. That being said if you have a pet rabbits this is the perfect place, but please do not ruin it for all us other rabbit owners as it is tough to find a "pet friendly" hotel who accepts pet rabbits. Btw I loved the old timey feel of this hotel, it was very beautiful and regal.

Perfect location (right around the corner from the famous Holy Donut), with friendly staff and spacious rooms. The bed is soft but comfortable. And not the best sound-proofing - that’s probably my biggest complaint - so try to avoid being by the elevator.

Loved the deck with water views of our room! Enjoyed cocktails on deck each night before bed. It was lovely. Perfect location in proximity to waterfront and great shopping/restaurants. Hotel is a bit dated, but don’t let that dissuade you because the rooms are clean with VERY comfortable bedding. Amazing water pressure in shower, too! The staff was wonderful, helpful, and friendly. Would absolutely stay here again.

We got the little double room at the front of the hotel on the fourth floor with a sweet round window. Such a sweet charming spot. Beds comfy and temperature perfect for a good nights sleep! Would stay again for sure.
