I echo many of the comments here. Skordo definitely has a large variety of spice blends. I'm off my high horse over blends... they're interesting and can save you a ton of time.The individual spice selection is large and fairly standard - but they're missing items like Worcestershire powder...I've been pleased with their products and their presentation is nice.So, nothing particularly new to add... just affirming what many folks have said.

I really appreciated the communication and going above and beyond with amazing customer service!We were repeat customers from a while back on our last trip to Portland. I specifically sought out this store for how delicious their blends and spices were. It was the only store I remembered and couldn’t wait to visit!I couldn’t tell if I upset the gentleman in the store by saying I didn’t know the specific names of spices I wanted to smell (the sale wall is opposite the “tester” wall, and I couldn’t remember the names as some were of foreign origin) or by saying I was from NY but I noticed (and my fiancé did too) his demeanor changed with one of those two things. He was still polite but was much kinder to other customers. The woman was very warm to us!

Excellent selection and friendly, knowledgeable staff. They offer unique blends, and occasionally have new ones on offer. They have spices and blends from all around the world. One of my favorite examples of this is their different varieties of paprika (I like to get their Hungarian paprika for making goulash). They also have recipe kits, which include pre-portioned spices to help you along when you make them. Also a good spot for gifts - for example, they have a set of four different fish rubs, a set of four different meat rubs, etc.

Love this store!! I'm very excited to try the blueberry pork chop seasoning!!Great service with unique and fun flavors, that make the perfect gift for any foodie!!! They are based out of Brunswick.

Didn't think I'd care this much about spices, but there is a significant difference between what Skordo sells vs what you get in the supermarket.They have everything you need and more and the staff are always helpful

These spices will make mediocre recipes and make them fantastic. I live in Connecticut and ended up ordering Cardamom. I actually said out loud “THAT’S what it’s suppose to taste like?!” when I tried it.

A small family business with a passion for spice, flavor, and cooking that treats their customers like family!! Beautiful store with an impressive selection of freshly ground and expertly sourced spices and mixed for all occasions. You can not go wrong with anything here! You will be inspired to cook on the daily after browsing their racks! And not to mention all the useful and unique kitchen products they sell, carefully curated.Skordo means Garlic in Greek, but that doesn't even break the tip of the iceberg of their selection!! Visit when you're in Portland, and i guarantee you'll have a new "spice guy" for life! You're welcome!

If you love cooking, this shop is a MUST DO in Portland. We randomly stopped in two years ago and were treated to the best customer service ever. We got to try some blends and I was even recommended the perfect cookbook. We went home with a few things but our absolute favorite is the Maple Salmon Rub. I have been loyally ordering this rub online before I can run out for the past two years plus other fun blends to try. Skordo's stuff is top notch quality. This is how you do business.

Soooo many delicious smells and flavors. Lovely spice shop from local producers. If visiting Portland, ME and you like to cook please do yourself a favor and stop by to get wowed. Staff was knowledgeable and friendly. Layout is hassle free, and there is a great assortment, also cooking books and other misc items.

Nicely curated spice store. They carry a large variety of different spices and salts as well as different types of containers. The staff is very friendly and will allow you to taste the spices before buying. Worth a stop when in the neighborhood.
