The State Theatre is a historic theater located in downtown Portland, Maine. A landmark in more ways than just the can’t-miss marquee, This 1,200-plus capacity venue hosts shows for national touring acts, as well as local one-off shows. A wide range of musical genres are represented here in what started off as a movie theater back in 1929. Inside and out, it’s loaded with interesting architecture and other very cool, hand-wrought features.
