There’s no reason for us to keep this garden a secret, the widely popular Bissell Brothers Brewing Co. has seamlessly transformed Rosemont Market & Wine Bar’s former space next door into Thompson’s Point’s newest culinary haven known as The Garden. But what’s it all about?
While the original taproom space next door remains intact and untouched (if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it), The Garden experience adjacent offers beer lovers and Bissell Brothers fanatics an additional opportunity to indulge in both Bissell’s excellent craft beer and exquisite cuisine while under one roof. Although The Garden technically made its debut late last year as a more casual taproom experience, this recent revamp places dinner service and the new elevated menu in the spotlight.
Inspired by the culinary region surrounding the Adriatic sea, Bissell Brothers’ Executive Chef Dave Rinaldi takes guests on a gastronomic journey through the coast with this new menu. The vision, a carefully curated selection of dishes highlighting fresh, local ingredients from land and sea, is accentuated with unique natural wines, specialty cocktails, and world-class beer with heightened level of service and ambiance that will delight new and existing Bissell Brothers fans alike.
All in all, The Garden experience is elevated, and in our eyes, pretty damn posh (but without all the exclusivity). We’ve showcased the menu below for a closer investigation, but The Garden menu is broken down into antipasti (appetizers), primi (first course), secondi (entree), and dolci (desserts). Explore dishes such as scallop crudo, beef tartare, porchetta sandwich, gnocchi, bavetta steak, cavatelli, whole fish, and zeppole to finish.
The photos used throughout will give you a good sense of how exquisite and thoughtfully designed The Garden is, but we highly recommend going on over to Thompson’s Point yourself to explore the new space. With a respected name in the industry, and known for their excellence, the Bissell Brothers team continues to excel with The Garden’s addition.
The Garden is set to open Saturday, May 11th to the public. The starting hours will run Thursday and Sunday 5pm – 8pm; Friday and Saturday 5pm – 10pm. On June 9th, Thursday and Sunday hours get pushed to 9pm.
Please note that The Garden is a kid-free experience. Moms and dads of Greater Portland, The Garden is your excuse to call up that babysitter and enjoy a date night without the kids.
