Portland’s winter festival, Carnaval ME, makes its grand return for its second year, running February 17th-26th, 2022 on the Eastern Promenade.
Celebrating winter in Maine, the festivities will begin February 17th with a Fire & Ice Gala to benefit WinterKids, the only nonprofit in Maine dedicated exclusively to increasing outdoor physical activity in children and families during the longest, most sedentary season. The Fire & Ice Gala to include LIVE Music from The Time Pilots, food and drink under the Bites & Brews Igloo, and more!
Fun for all ages, the ten-day-long event will include LIVE music from artists such as Ghost of Paul Revere, Scotty McCreery, Jason Spooner Band, Motor Booty Affair, Hello Newman, Maine Academy of Modern Music, and many more. Kids can pop their heads into the heated igloo to get a caricature, face painting, or to make a bracelet. Outdoor kids’ activities include ski lessons, carving their name into ice, and winter games.
For adults, warm up in the Bites & Brews Igloo, which will feature pairings from Maine craft breweries and nationally recognized local restaurants, such as Central Provisions, Allagash Brewing Co., Eighty8 Donut Cafe, Luke’s Lobster, Mast Landing Brewing Co., and more. The festivities don’t stop there. To really experience Carnaval ME, watch LIVE ice sculptures demonstrations, take a picture at the frozen selfie stations, enjoy visits with Maine mascots, warm up by a bonfire, and cheer on skiers and snowboarders or join in yourself for a fun family hillside adventure on the Nautilus Solar Rail Jam.
