Cloudport CoWorking, a popular coworking space in Portland for entrepreneurs, remote workers, and creatives, is expanding with a second location. After growing rapidly at their original spot at 63 Federal Street, owners Nik Caner-Medley and Josh Corbeau decided to open another space at 16 Middle Street.
River Horn, Cloudport’s Community Manager, said, “Our community really supports what we’re doing. We’ve seen a big demand for the type of work environment we provide, which mixes collaboration and great facilities. This new location lets us bring in more members and offer them more ways to work together and succeed.”
The new space is in the India Street Neighborhood, which is a key area for Portland’s growing entrepreneurial scene. It will have 34 private offices, 3 meeting rooms, more than 70 workstations, 8 phone booths, a large open floor plan, the latest technology, and 60 parking spaces. Having two locations close to each other will help create a campus feel.
Katie Shorey, President of Startup Maine, noted the timing of the expansion. “There’s a lot of activity in Portland’s startup scene right now. More companies are moving here, more people are starting businesses, and more investors are getting involved. Cloudport’s new location is coming at a crucial time to help support and boost this growth.”
The expansion isn’t just about more space. Cloudport plans to start new programs at the second location, like workshops, networking events, and resources for startups.
Cloudport’s new location will open in mid-June. For more information, to schedule a tour, or to keep up with updates, you can visit their website at www.cloudportme.com or follow them on social media.
