Duckfat Frites Shack opened in Portland’s East End as a companion to the brewery Oxbow Blending & Bottling.
The original Duckfat restaurant on Middle Street has been a Portland staple since it opened in 2004 and is a three-time chopped champion. Their hand-cut fries fried Belgian-style in duckfat are available as poutine or naked, with a “flight” of their five house-made sauces – the perfect complement to a local brew. Treat yourself to a thick, creamy shake (also great for dipping fries) or try out their rotating selection of sandwiches, salads, and snacks readily available for take-out or outdoor dining.
They’re also neighbors with several other craft beverage producers (Oxbow Blending & Bottling, Anoche, Root Wild Kombucha, and Maine Mead Works) which means once you’ve ordered, you can opt for to-go and grab a drink at a brewery, distillery, or meadery nearby and wait for the buzzer to alert you that your food’s ready!
