The Maine Mariners have kicked off their fifth ECHL regular season, starting with an away game against the Trois-Rivieres Lions in Quebec on Friday, October 20th, followed by a home game against the Lions on Saturday, October 21st. Unfortunately, the Mariners faced defeat in both of these early-season matchups.
On a solemn note, the game scheduled for Friday, October 27th against the Adirondack Thunder at the Cross Insurance Arena had to be postponed due to tragic events in Lewiston. However, the team returned to the ice on Saturday, October 28th for their third game of the season in Adirondack, where they secured their first win in a thrilling overtime victory.
As we transition into November, the Mariners will be hitting the road, heading to Virginia to face off against the Norfolk Admirals, starting on November 3rd. This series includes games on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, marking the start of several exciting matchups between the Mariners and the Admirals this season.
Upon returning home on Friday, November 10th, the Mariners will renew their rivalry with the Trois-Rivieres Lions, who have already secured two wins against them this season. The excitement will continue on Saturday, November 11th when the Mariners host the Adirondack Thunder, their most frequent opponent in the 2023-24 season, promising a must-see game.
November presents a month of heavy travel for the Mariners, with just four home games and six away games on the schedule. They will have yet another chance at redemption against the Trois-Rivieres Lions in Quebec with back-to-back games on Friday, November 17th and Saturday, November 18th. On their way back to Maine, they’ll make a stop in Worcester for an afternoon game against the Worcester Railers on Sunday, November 19th, a team they faced twice during the preseason.
To cap off the month, the Mariners will host the Reading Royals, the team that eliminated them from the ECHL Kelly Cup Playoffs last season. These back-to-back home games on Friday, November 24th and Saturday, November 25th present a golden opportunity for the Mariners to seek redemption.
One thing is for certain – you won’t want to miss a single moment of the Maine Mariners’ action in the month of November!
