Portland’s Old Port is already home to a handful of subterranean shops and bars that are perfect for a little escape from reality when the time calls for it. Sure, you can duck out of sight at Lincoln’s for a drink, but where can you disappear for a good cup of coffee? Soon, you’ll have an opportunity to hide from reality (or the winter) at an underground coffee shop as well. The coffee cart known as Buzz Coffee is fitting out the space at 19 Exchange Street as a new brick-and-mortar cafe.
Buzz Coffee cart quickly became a big hit wherever it set up this summer in Portland. The success of the cart, as well as the opportunity to operate year-round, led to the business decision to open a new cafe. As you’d expect, the menu at the Buzz Café will more extensive. Beyond just the cold brew coffee options Buzz has become known for, the café will offer espresso drinks, teas and light food items like bagels and cream cheese. It will also feature Maine-made art and products as well.
