After nine years of serving the Old Port community, TIQA, a popular Mediterranean restaurant, has announced that it will be closing its doors indefinitely.
The contemporary space, which opened next to the Marriott Courtyard has been a favorite dining destination for locals and tourists alike.
With its inviting bar, lounge, and patio areas, TIQA is known for its shareable small plates and craft cocktail list. Unfortunately, the past three years have remained challenging for the local restaurant, and as of April 18, 2023, TIQA has ceased operations without a projected reopening date.
In a heartfelt statement, Deen and Carol Haleem, the owners of TIQA, expressed:
“We are so grateful to all our wonderful staff for their dedication and hard work and especially for having made TIQA a great place to dine for all occasions. We will miss them and wish them all the best in their future endeavors.
We are also grateful to all our guests for your loyalty and patronage over the past many years. We loved serving you and it has been our pleasure to have you with us for special occasions, birthday parties, showers, weddings, business meetings and more. We wish you all the best in your foodie adventures in the future!
We would be remiss in not expressing our gratitude to our partners and suppliers and wish everyone the best in their own business.
Finally, a word of thanks to the City of Portland and the great staff that worked with us to open over nine years ago and who have always been open to feedback.”
