Prentice Hospitality Group, renowned for its acclaimed establishments such as Twelve, Evo Kitchen + Bar, and Chebeague Island Inn, are eagerly preparing to unveil its newest venture, ‘Douro,’ scheduled to open its doors in the summer of 2024. Douro promises to be a heartfelt homage to the fishermen, oyster farms, and maritime communities along the Atlantic coast. Nestled along the Portland waterfront, Douro will offer a relaxed, all-day dining experience featuring European-inspired seafood paired with an extensive selection of wines by the glass, classic cocktails, and inviting non-alcoholic options.
Executive Chef Colin Wyatt, celebrated for his culinary prowess at Twelve and Eleven Madison Park, will curate a menu that celebrates simplicity and freshness, showcasing the exceptional quality of ingredients sourced daily. Meanwhile, Pastry Chef Georgia Macon, recognized as the “Rising Star: Pastry Chef of New England” by StarChefs 2024, will delight guests with her creations on the dessert menu. Douro aims to be a welcoming destination for both locals and visitors alike, inviting them to indulge in the rich flavors of the Atlantic’s maritime treasures.
The restaurant’s interior design will be meticulously crafted in collaboration with Patrick Boothe, Director of Woodhull Commercial Studio. Conveniently located across the street from its sister restaurant Twelve, Douro will be located within the building located at 110 Thames Street.
