Buzz Coffee is transferring ownership, and set to reopen mid-May.
Owners Kevin and Hayley Ward of Portland ice cream shop Coastal Creamery, have acquired Buzz Coffee on Exchange Street.
Kevin said that he’s been a fan of Buzz for some time now, and used to go for coffee frequently. When the opportunity presented itself to take over, he jumped at the chance. Their plan is to keep vibe similar, while putting their own touch on it and expand the breakfast sandwich menu.
The name “Buzz Coffee” will remain the same, but they will be expanding their hours of operation, and possibly adding a stand up bar area, providing a welcoming space to hang out. They will take over the space on May 1st, and plan to be open for operation sometime mid-May.
They are excited to begin their second year of Coastal Creamery, and launch the acquisition of Buzz Coffee! Kevin said, “With this now being our second business venture in as many years, we are excited to invest and deepen our roots in this community. We are looking forward to growing our presence on Exchange Street and throughout Portland with Buzz coffee.” In addition to this exciting change with Buzz, they are getting ready for some new happenings with Coastal Creamery as well!
