Combining Mainer’s appreciation for all things craft beer and the growing popularity of disc golf, Portland’s newest sports league, JoySwich, is still taking sign-ups for their second installment starting June 13th, 2022. Editor’s note: spots filling up fast!
Creating community around disc golf, JoySwich (Joy and Solitude Within Camping and Hiking), is an 8-week putting league where players at any level can get together, have a beer, and spread some joy, all while getting outside and doing what you love whether it be disc golf, camp, bike, swim, hike and/or party.
Ultimately looking for a property that will be the center for all things adventure, you can currently find JoySwich throughout Portland with their putting leagues, disc golf pop-ups, brewery collaborations, and special events. Their next 8-week league begins in June and will take place every Monday night 6PM – 8PM with practice beforehand at 5:30PM. Teams will consist of of 4-6 people, bowling scoring rules. Weekly prize for Most Improved!
In addition to their next putting league, they will also offer Women’s Disc Golf Clinics on certain Sundays at Rising Tide Brewing Co. in hopes to create a space for women to learn and play. Open to all levels, from novice to professional.
