I have this undiagnosed “condition” where I find myself extremely parched around 5 o’clock on weekdays. Fortunately, (or perhaps unfortunately) my walk home from work parades past more than a few watering holes in Portland. On one particular Taco Tuesday, I decided to drink al fresco at Taco Escobarr with a $5 Happy Hour House Margarita in my hands.

The House Margarita keeps it simple: silver tequila, triple sec, fresh lime juice, and agave. In my case, a salt rim completes the package, although you can opt out of it. This classic margarita was just what my “condition” was asking for: a smooth, refreshing cocktail with the right amount of tang and tequila to top off my work day. Did I mention I’m also a fan of the $5 price tag?
Most places in Portland offer Happy Hour, but Taco Escobarr is one of the few that serves specially priced beverages from 4-7pm. Along with the $5 ‘ritas, they offer select $3.50 drafts (but not local craft brews). As an added bonus, you can pair chips and salsa with your beverage of choice for free! Belly up to the bar and enjoy a Happy Hour special under the glow of rows of multi-colored chili pepper lights or grab a seat outside –– if you can snag one before it fills up.

If Happy Hour isn’t impressive enough, all day on Sundays a Miller High Life is $2. Margarita Monday offers $1 off specialty margaritas. (That Habanero Peach is calling my name!) Taco Escobarr also has your late night cravings covered with $5 Wings and Ninos Nachos from 10pm-1am.
When five o’clock rolls around and you’re feeling particularly dehydrated, Taco Escobarr serves up refreshing, wallet-friendly, margaritas to soothe your thirst.
