Friday April 28th– The weather has been unpredictable. Monday my iPhone weather app told me it was going to rain for the next eight days, Tuesday there was predicted sunshine for Friday and Sunday but now it looks like we may just have some clouds over our heads.
Regardless of weather, we all know Portland is always prepared for a good time and Friday evening is filled with events made to give someone a good night out. Rising Tide Brewing Company is hosting it’s event Beer & Oysters from 4-7pm. Whether you are into beer, into oysters or just want to bring your friends somewhere you know that you can have a good time, show up here and meet some new people, they are always hosting events just for us!
If oysters are too daring for you but you like a being in a competitive environment with others, then we can head over to FYOOD Kitchen from 6-9pm and start cutting back on that fear in the kitchen because they’re inviting you to sit down with the food they provide and COOK! Learn, explore and definitely play with your food.
Maybe you’ve mastered the art of sticking to healthy living on the weekends and are looking for something to do out and about to relax after the rainy week. At Niraj Yoga, they are starting a New Moon Restorative class at 6:30. Ease your mind and regain your energy for only $10. Email [email protected] to reserve your spot.
Attention Moms: Your night won’t start deep in the Old Port but Spare Time is hosting a Mom’s Night Out which means FREE bowling, FREE laser tag and plenty of food and drinks specials. This is their first Mom’s Night Out so let’s make it count for both them and you! Event starts at 6 and ends at 9, check it out!
Saturday April 29th -There will be a Beauty Walk starting at 10am in the Baxter woods. The idea of this walk is quite beautiful itself. Although we do live in an area incredibly appealing to the eye we are also constantly fighting for it to remain so. For those of us who may have started to feel a tad burnt out in our efforts or those of us who are always searching for new meditative practices, this walk seemed to have been put together just for you and to invite those who may need some rejuvenation and reassurance within our beautiful city, all aboard. Here is the Facebook event to learn more: https://www.facebook.com/events/386048015094574/.
Margaritas opens at 11am and is also fighting for something but they need us. There is a flyer to bring in with you to Margaritas when you join them this Saturday as 20% of your orders proceeds will go to the March of Dimes!
Portland Ballet is wrapping it’s season up with Swan Lake Act II. The 7:30pm showing of this complete classic is going to fill you with serenity but you will have to go just a few miles out of your way for the show. This is a great opportunity to watch our Portland Ballet dancers give it there all. They are talented, kind, poised and it exudes from their every tranquil transition.
Hellooo, Adele is here -in spirit! This is the second annual tribute concert to Adele at the Portland House of Music. Many of the tribute bands that play here in Portland live up to all of the expectation you could create for them. My last experience with a tribute band was that of Queen, same place and it blew my mind. Fans of Adele’s will probably find themselves fans of this night, and fans of Rachel Doe, the “Adele” to be.
