Friday the 24th
Educator Happy Hour | Fore River Brewing Company | 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM
As a thank you to all the amazing educators, Fore River Brewing Co runs Educator Happy Hour at Friday from 3 PM – 7 PM with 20% off all drafts.
Additionally, the South Portland brewery has a whole slew of deals throughout the week, including $1 off pints on Mondays, $5 rotating can specials on Tuesdays, and an official Happy Hour at the brewery 2 PM – 6 PM Wednesday + Thursday with $6 pints, and Sundays with a $1 off of pints.

Family Day: Fabricating American Perspectives | Portland Museum of Art | 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Weave through the many unfolding stories of American Folk Art at the Portland Museum of Art! In connection with American Perspectives, PMA invites visitors of all ages to celebrate Black History Month by exploring the exhibition and engaging in family-friendly activities throughout the day. Activities include Family Relax & Color, Free Film, a family tour, t-shirt and tote design with Loquat, poetry exploration and more.

Irish Voices: An Evening of Irish Poetry, Art and Music | Maine Irish Heritage Center | 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Join Maine Irish Heritage Center for an evening celebrating the arts and the Irish influence through poetry, traditional music, and the visual arts. The cultural thread of the literary, music, and visual arts and traditions, whether in Ireland or in America, will be front and center for your enjoyment. The program will feature six Irish poets presenting their original work virtually from Ireland and six from this region reading their work live. The program will include performances from some of the area’s best traditional musicians and also feature accomplished local visual artists showing their work throughout the evening. Tickets here.

Join local Portland artist Robert Paulette and The Inn on Peaks for an afternoon of fun, food, and friends by the Sea! Half Moon Jug Band | Mayo Street Arts | 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM
An interactive night of touching and uproarious Maine-inspired songs about cross-country horse travelers, Civil War heroes, wayward moose, and the culinary delights of tuna noodle casserole. The Half Moon Jug Band is a 21st-century jug band rooted in the Downeast humor and dry wit traditions of their home State O’ Maine. Upbeat and positive, the Half Moon Jug Band does whatever it takes to get you singing along and dancing in the aisles. They firmly believe that “Louie, Louie” is every bit as real a folk song as “She’ll Be Coming ‘Round the Mountain.” Tickets here.

Banded Brewing Co. is super stoked to announce a new board game session series with Diversions Games! Official Maine Stop: Letters From Home 50-States Tour | at St. Lawrence Arts | 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM
As the official Maine stop of their 50-States Tour, Letters From Home will bring back the style of the USO with a high-energy performance featuring Erinn Dearth and Dan Beckmann! This duo has performed over 900 shows across the United States for veterans and their families, and performed at the 75th Anniversary of D-Day in Normandy, France. The show is filled with singing, tap dancing, knee-slapping jokes and audience interaction that make up a spectacular performance geared towards uniting the nation through music. Tickets here.
