The Weekend Guide for April 27th – 29th, 2018

If there’s a few things we love in the Old Port, it’s live music, good food, and beer… Be sure to get your fill this weekend (it won’t be hard to do)!

Friday

Join Geary’s Brewing Company for their summer opener! Live music, great beer, and local food trucks will all be happening from noon-7 pm, the perfect lunchtime or post-work stop.

Nothing beats Beer & Oysters at Rising Tide! Join them and O’Oysters for the perfect pairing starting at 4 pm and get slurping!

In loving memory of Barbara Bush, Bissell Brothers Brewing is hosting the musical stylings of Shut Down Brown along with raffle prizes and lots of beer, with all proceeds going to the Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital at Maine Medical Center beginning at 8 pm (with a $15 cover).

Care for a Nightcap? Local comedians Nikki Martin, Amelia Labreck, Anders Nielsen, and Micaela Tepler bringing the funny to Empire from 8:30-11:30 pm!

Saturday

It’s finally opening day of the outdoor Farmer’s Market in Deering Oaks Park starting at 7 am for fresh, local fruits, veggies, flowers, homemade goods, and more!

It’s going to be a beautiful day for some rugby and the Portland Rugby Football Club is hosting New London County’s team on the grass fields behind Deering High School at 2 pm.

Combine high quality BBQ with the eclectic sounds of Raging Brass and the possibilities for a good time are endless. They’re playing starting at 8 pm, no cover and all ages are welcome!

The 80s and 90s called and they want you to be at Spring Fever: An 80s and 90s Live Band Dance Party with Girls Just Want To Have Fun & Hello Newman! The doors open at 8:30 pm at Port City Music Hall to celebrate the two most awesome decades of music with two of the best tribute bands in the area.

Sunday

The Sunday we’ve waited all April for is here! The Thirsty Pig’s monthly brunch is going down starting at 11 am with a select brunch menu, mimosas, and music from Joel Thetford!

Make sure you’re thirsty if you plan to stop at the 8th Annual Beer & Cheese Tasting at Cinque Terre and Vignola and be ready to try some delicious pairings! This event is $30 at the door and will last from noon to 3 pm!

A Sunday Happy Hour? Don’t mind if we do! Bull Feeney’s is offering all drafts for $4-5, over 200 whiskies at 20% off, and all glasses of wine for $6 starting at 4 pm.
