How are those New Year’s resolutions going? Good? Great? Just ok? Only the second weekend into the new year, Portland Old Port’s own resolution for 2023 was to bring you (the people and visitors of Portland) more ways to enjoy Maine’s largest city. How are we doing?

Friday the 13th
Deep Cuts with DJ HiDuke | Oxbow Blending & Bottling | 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Happy Hour | Saltwater Grille | 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Starting 2023 off on the right foot, Saltwater Grille recently debuted their happy hour menu, available seven days a week. Includes deals on drinks, oysters and small plates. View menu here.

Maine Coast Monkfish Stew Pop-up! | Three of Strong Spirits | 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM
Join Three of Strong Spirits and their January Community Spirits Partner, the Maine Coast Fishermen’s Association, for some free sampling of their delicious monkfish stew and learn more about their Fishermen Feeding Mainer’s Program. Bar will be open for regular service hours, 3pm to 9pm and $2 from every cocktail sold in the Tasting Room goes to this amazing program.

Snowflake Color-Changing Playdough Workshop | Children’s Museum & Theatre of Maine | 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM
Experiment with heat, temperature, and measurement at a Snowflake Color-Changing Playdough Drop-Off Workshop. Science and art collide in this interactive program, designed for ages 5-12. Participants work alongside CMTM staff to follow a recipe, make a hypothesis, and measure ingredients while creating a ball of thermochromic color-changing playdough. Foil snowflakes add a touch of seasonal whimsy to the finished dough, which participants are welcome to bring home. Tickets here.

You’re invited to another Common Floor Contra Dance! The Portland Contra Dance team has a crew full of Maine performers for your dancing and listening enjoyment! Each dance features a different performer. All ages and experience levels are welcome. Bring clean shoes to dance in and a water bottle. You don’t need to bring a dance partner. *Covid Policies are staying the same for 2022, requiring vaccination and high quality masks.
