Ruby’s West End Owners Matt and Corrinna Stum have announced that they will be relocating Ruby’s to 642 Congress Street in Portland, Maine, the former home of Ada’s Kitchen.
Opening in April of 2021 at 64 Pine Street in the West End, Ruby’s West End made the announcement earlier this month that they would be closing their current location end of January 2023 to focus on relocating within Portland.
Featured in our round-up of ‘Expected 2023 Restaurant Openings’, Ruby’s West End has made a name for itself as a cozy and welcoming brunch spot with coffee and pastries, and homemade breakfast staples such Dutch Baby and Biscuits and Gravy. They made national headlines in September 2021 when they were featured in the New York Times’ article, ‘How to Make an Unloved Job More Attractive? Restaurants Tinker with Wages’, regarding the restaurant industries’ changing pay practices.
Opening date of the new location TBD, but renovations are currently underway with Ruby’s West End looking to offer full service brunch, lunch, and dinner upon opening. They will be changing up the menu for this new adventure.
Their last day of service at 64 Pine Street will be Sunday, January 29th, 2023. Current hours are Wednesday, Thursday – Sunday 8:00 AM – 2:30 PM.
In a statement made early January via social media:
“We’re excited to announce that Ruby’s is moving into a new location! In our time in the West End we have built a family and community that we are blown away by everyday. Our commitments are still the same and unwavering. Great food, great drinks, great service, and more than anything, taking care of our staff and guests to make sure everyone feels at home. Grandma Ruby always welcomed new people into her home with the most gracious hospitality and a seat at the table. We might have some new seats and new tables, but that sense of graciousness is staying with us.
We’re taking a little break to give our team time to rest and will be open January 19 – January 30. New location details and re-opening day will be announced soon!
