The Avengers, Wonder Woman, Deadpool, Spiderman, Batman, Batgirl, and more of your favorite comics and video game characters will be at Brick South on Thompson’s Point for a family-friendly and affordable cosplay convention the weekend of July 8 and 9.
After a successful first outing that attracted dozens of artists from around New England, founders Mollie and Keith Dinsmore want to see new and friendly faces at this all ages event.
Keith Dinsmore is known as the Old Port Batman and holds the Guinness World Record for having the most functional gadgets based on the character’s creations.
They started this event to share their love of cosplay culture at an accessible price for families and people curious about the culture.
“Cosplay is all about expression of our inner-selves and that's exactly what we’re trying to tap into here,” said Mollie Dinsmore.
“Convention after convention, our hearts are filled when we spend our time around positive people who are living their dream, creating fun, and uplifting others, and we want to share that with everyone.” The event will include show cars, a costume contest for any attendee who wants to enter, live music, food trucks, and opportunities to connect with local charitable organizations.
Tickets are $10 per day, or $15 for both days. Children ages 5 and under are welcome for free. More information, including vendor application forms and ticket sales, can be found at cosplayextravaganza.com
