At Blyth & Burrows in Portland, Maine, we pride ourselves on the knowledge and craft of the cocktail experience. Our team is made up of veterans of the hospitality industry and our bartenders have dedicated their careers to being on the bar stage- going above and beyond for anyone on the opposite side.

Our bar is a celebration of life and freedom, set in the historic Old Port district with a nautical atmosphere, commemorating the battle of legendary sea captains Samuel Blyth and William Burrows. Enjoy hand-crafted cocktails and carefully constructed small plates with us, 7 days a week.

Came for some cocktails. Ended up trying oysters too. The cocktails were fabulous. The best was the fuzzypaws - the red pepper foam was out of this world. Service was a tad slow, but they were really busy.

Oh my god this place was so good. We were in Portland for 3 days and we went everyday, try to find the hidden speak easy! The Tom Yum is a must try and the Wednesday oyster social was the best deal. The staff was hustling and pleasant. Would return time and time again

Incredible drinks - we got “It’s Big in Japan” and “Ship Captain and Crew.” Both very smooth. It’s Big in Japan was so bright and smooth you would have never known it had alcohol. Ship Captain and Crew was complex and developed over the age of the drink due to the pecan wood smoke. Would recommend to anyone who wants a craft cocktail well worth the money.

There are many, many places to get cocktails in Portland. This came recommended, and we are glad we went! As is usual for us, we sat at the bar. It was clear that the bartender really knew about cocktails. Our first were off the menu. I tried the "big in Japan", which was vodka, shochu, cucumber, and other things. It was herbaceous and well-balanced. My husband had the "ship captain crew", which was bourbon, rum, sherry, and other things plus served smoked. Very cool! For my next drink I just told the bartender my favorite cocktail and he made his own riff on it. We also got a half dozen local oysters.The bartender made requested drinks easily, and ad libbed equally easily. This is a very excellent place for cocktails.

I had high expectations for this place and they exceeded them. Phenomenal craft cocktails. I might even say some of the absolute best I've had. Gorgeous presentation, cool vibe, excellent service. Can't imagine it getting any better than this.
