Formed in 1992, Lettuce, a funk band hailing from Boston, Massachusetts, came together due to their shared passion for a wide array of funk music legends. In the autumn of 1994, the band regrouped while pursuing their undergraduate studies at Berklee. They embarked on a journey to perform in various jazz clubs around Boston, adopting the moniker “Lettuce” as they approached club owners and fellow musicians with a simple question: “Will you let us play?” Fast forward to 2020, and Lettuce’s album ‘Elevate’ earned a Grammy nomination in the category of Instrumental Album of the Year.
