Here’s something to feel good about: Portland’s Feel Good Funk Fest is returning for another year, this time happening May 30th – June 1st. This exciting festival, taking place at iconic venues such as The Portland Zoo, Aprés, Maine Craft Distilling, and Oxbow Blending & Bottling, promises three days of electrifying live funk and jazz music, delicious food, and creative art. Featuring a stellar lineup of local performers, bands, and DJs including Nth Power, Kenya Hall, Lyle Divinsky, Hambone, Bandwich, Corpus Chicanery, Skösh, Lazy Bird, and a whole lot more, the lineup of live music will be accompanied by local food, art market pop-ups, and drink specials. Don your UV reactive costumes for an unforgettable night at Plauge’s Black Light Party! Unleash your creativity on canvas or use face paint crayons to decorate yourself and others (with consent, of course). Artist Max Leon will be on hand for face and body painting. DJs Mothra and Nemesis will spin goth, industrial, and dark music all night long. While there’s no dress code, you are encouraged to wear your most creative attire and join the fun!
I Love You to Death | The Hill Arts | 7:00 PM
It’s a wild night at the speakeasy, and the password is ‘mystery.’ Step into the Irish Lyon Social Club where the jazz is hot, the illegal liquor is flowing, and the night promises mayhem. A boxer, a gangster, a rival vaudevillian, a woman on the prowl, and a pair of star-crossed lovers all enter, but who will leave alive? As bodies and suspects pile up, it’s up to you to solve the mystery in “I Love You to Death.” Join Sleuths Mystery Entertainment for an evening of crooked deals, betrayal, and murder. Track the clues, interact with the characters, and submit your guess by the end of the show for a chance to win a prize if you identify the culprit. Join for a night of laughter and charity with Maine’s finest comedians! One of BNW Productions’ founding members experienced homelessness when he first moved to Maine. Inspired to give back, BNW, a collaboration between 4 Maine based comics, has organized this special comedy event to support the unhoused community. All profits from the show will be donated to Hope Squad, a local group dedicated to assisting the unhoused population. Come out for an evening of fun and support a great cause! Tickets.
