Friday, June 26: Didn’t get your ticket to the now-sold-out Allagash Street Fair? Don’t despair, you can still enjoy one of Portland’s best brews at the Allagash Victoria Ale Premiere while helping support preservation efforts for the Victoria Mansion, a National Historic Landmark. Oooooh, fancy! On Friday, June 26, Allagash will be at the mansion for the un-casking of their 2015 Victoria Ale, a Belgian-style ale brewed with white wine grapes in the mash. Proceeds from the annual limited release are donated to benefit Victoria Mansion’s historic preservation and education mission.
This event will be held on the mansion lawn and includes unlimited tastings of Allagash ales, Green Bee Soda, and Honeymaker Mead by Maine Mead Works, food from Blue Elephant Events & Catering, and tours of Victoria Mansion. The Pete Kilpatrick Band will perform throughout the evening. Tickets are $35, or $28 for Victoria Mansion members, and include a commemorative glass. It’s another amazing lineup at the Maine State Pier for Waterfront Concerts on Friday. Barenaked Ladies will be headlining, and joined by special guests 80s cool kids The Violent Femmes, along with Colin Hay, former front man for Men at Work. Doors are at 5:00 p.m. and the show starts at 6:30 p.m. Tickets range from $39.50 to $79.50. The Maine State Pier, Portland.
Saturday, June 27: Come out and celebrate the first full weekend of summer at the Second Annual Twenty Sauce Swimwear Summer Banger, happening at The Porthole from 7-11 p.m. on Saturday, June 27. DJ ROSS will be spinning, and there will be lots of giveaways throughout the evening. Admission is FREE! 20 Custom House Wharf, Portland.
Also going on this week is PortFringe, Maine’s Fringe Theater Festival. Performances are taking place throughout the week at several venues, including Empire, Geno’s and Portland Stage Company. Sunday, June 28: The NoshBow Street Festival is back! The block party featuring TWO music stages will be going down on Oak Street and is a collaboration between Nosh Kitchen Bar, Oxbow Brewing, ReSession Skateboard shop and DeadFlowers Presents. On the main stage you can catch The Mallett Brothers Band, Paranoid Social Club, Tigerman WHOA!, Eldemur Krimm, Covered in Bees and The Pubcrawlers. Stage #2 will feature the DJ stylings of Che Ros, Don Damiani and the DJ with our favorite name, God.Damn.Chan. Did we mention there will be food trucks? Oh yes there will!
