Italian for “The Old Way,” ViA VECCHiA is a small plates Italian-inspired restaurant. We are situated within the heart of the Old Port in a historic brick and ivy-covered building overlooking cobblestone streets.

Stop by and enjoy our ravioli, filet, or other authentic dishes – but not before sipping on a delicious aperitivo to stimulate the appetite.

We also proudly host an extraordinary cocktail program combining old world sophistication and new world technique.

Our large wrap-around 20 seat bar is surrounded by velvet booths in a warm, energetic atmosphere. Before you leave, be sure to take an Instagram selfie in the bathroom mirror and tag us to have a chance of being featured on our page!

Server? Professional, great recommendations. Great conversations. Great personality. (Brown hair, slicked back hair in pony tail (sorry!))Food? Everything was freshly made, as you could tell with every bite. Holy crap, was it good. Every average italian restaurant out there never really cuts it for me, as it all seems to take similar. The flavors, textures & plate presentation was all phenomenal.Atmosphere? Being brought to the far back of the restaurant, we were on the second floor of the dining room fashioned into a dark, comfortable den. Besides the pretty decor & ambient lighting, the music absolutely brought me to the next level. As I ate, and drank, I got to listen to culturally American Italian classics, classic 60s rock like the Beatles, and 50s oldies hits. This song bird couldn’t stop singing the entire dinner.A meal to remember for quite some time. Thank you ❤️

To start off this review I'm just going to say that almost everything was perfect. There were a few dishes that just needed a touch of salt or acid. An example of this is the tomato salad with buratta, the tomatoes were excellent the buratta was fresh and the pesto sauce was delicious. This dish could have been elevated to the next level with just a touch of lemon juice and a little flaky salt for texture. The bread was tasty but felt like it was a tiny bit stale and would have been better toasted. The muscles on the other hand were perfect, Michelin star worthy, everything from seasoning to the broth was exquisite. The pasta with shrimp had great flavors that blended together perfectly. The hot and dirty martini was pure perfection, perfectly smooth a little spicy and salty. Our waiter was very attentive and well informed about everything on the menu including exactly how the hot and dirty martini was made.

Pros: Beautiful ivy covered building with outdoor seating in the front, a curving bar in the main dining room, and an intimate two floor area in the back. Service was very attentive: our server was deeply knowledgeable about the food and drink and checked in with us frequently. Decor is detailed and eloquent. The recipes and execution was top notch, worth the price.Cons: a few dishes were slightly under seasoned and the sourdough was nearing stale, but the experience was otherwise flawless. We started with mussels, bread and burrata. The mussels were plump and the broth well seasoned and delicious. The burrata + seasonal tomatoes tastes like summer. For mains we got two pasta dishes (shrimp for one and a spicy cream sauce for the other). Both were good in their own way. The shrimp dish had layers of great flavor. You MUST order the hot and dirty martini. They put a lot of effort into it, as described by our waiter, and it comes through in the spicy, briny taste. The desserts were balanced and not too heavy after a big meal.10 out of 10. Perfect destination for a special meal.

Great service- with a super helpful waiter with pearls. My favorite was the hot&dirty martini. Both noodle dishes were savory- albeit under salted - especially the plain one. The broth for the mussels was unique and amazing. Very well salted. The bradda salad was odd with the pesto sauce: tomatoes were perfect and pesto sauce too thick. I would have thrown some lemon and some finishing salt. The sourdough bread was pretty stale and also under salted but the butter was great. The back had quite an amazing bar - picture included.

We sat at the bar were served by Mark. He made excellent drinks. My favorite was Remember the Maine and he made a Bohemian for my wife. Delicious creative food and a very classy atmosphere.
