We are on cloud wine, Portland Wine Week is taking place again this year from June 12th-June 18th, 2023!
Celebrating the best of what this seaside “Restaurant City of the Year” has to offer, Portland Wine Week will include seminars, tastings, weeklong deals, special events, & more! Most, if not all, events are expected to sell out quickly. To ensure you don’t miss out on the fun, here’s a glimpse at a few events you cannot miss this 2023 line-up!
Wine Sails
There’s no better way to enjoy fine wine than aboard the 74-foot Sailboat, Frances as it heads out on Portland’s Casco Bay promising scenic views of lighthouses, islands, waterways, and more. Presented by Wine Wise, current sails available include the Celebrating Women Winemakers Sail.

Fierce Femmes Wine Dinner at Sur Lie

“Looking to elevate your dining experience? Twelve is celebrating Portland Wine Week in so many ways. For a nightly offering, Sommelier Jenn Forge is popping open some of their higher end wines from their ‘bottles only’ list to compliment and enhance each dish from their 4-course prix fixe menu. Wines may change nightly depending on what glorious dishes are planned for the evening.”
Merroir & Terroir @ Union at The Press Hotel | Tuesday, June 13th – Saturday, June 17th from 5 PM – 7 PM
“An experience of Merroir, an adopted French phrase to describe the natural element of an oyster, meets our familiar friend, Terroir, in Union for Happy Hour. Featuring wines from 25-year-old winemaker, Louise Chereau, the newest generation from the pioneers of Muscadet in Chereau Carré, Union hopes to offer an organic expression of Muscadet and their outstanding quality of local oysters they are fortunate to enjoy here in Maine. Each expression of Muscadet; bubbles, still, single vineyard, offered side-by-side with its delicately selected oyster companion, flight style. Enjoy a flight of 3 wines and 3 oysters for $30 for an activated Happy Hour, influenced by yours truly, wine & food.”

“Sur Lie’s Owner, Krista Cole, and Executive Chef, Mimi Weissenborn will showcase female winemaker Sonja Magdevski of Clementine Carter’s eclectic collection of Rhone varietal wines grown in the Santa Barbara region of California brought into the state of Maine by female-owned Crush Distributors. If you’ve never attended a wine dinner at Sur Lie, you’re in for a treat! Sur Lie’s family style dining creates a fun and unique dining experience. You’ll taste your way through four courses each paired with it’s own unique wine. The food will be perfectly paired by Executive Chef Mimi Weissenborn, a Michelin Star recommended chef who boasts most of her experience in NYC. Optional cocktail hour starts at 5pm. The dinner, consisting of four courses paired with four wines, will begin at 6pm.”

“Join Wine Scholar Anne Arnold at Grippy Tannins to learn the great history of women who shaped the world of wine. Anne will guide you through the history of women in wine and will taste you on the iconic wines from various regions across the globe that have been shaped by women. You’ll sample 6 different wines, showcasing the women of Champagne, Barolo, California, and Burgundy to name a few. A light snack of cheese and charcuterie will be paired with the lineup. 10% discount on all wines sampled.“
Brick & Mortar Tasting with Alexis Iaconis @ Maine & Loire | Wednesday, June 14th from 4 PM- 5:30 PM | FREE EVENT
