Portland plunges into yet another deep freeze this weekend but that doesn’t mean there aren’t a bunch of great events happening around town that will make sure you stay nice and toasty. Take a trip into the world of the occult, enjoy a psychedelic reimagining of a classic Radiohead album or experience some of the best hip hop artists in Portland, this is your weekend guide.

Jo Radner’s Burnt Into Memory | Mayo Street Arts | 7:00pm
Folklorist, storyteller, writer, and oral historian, Jo Radner creates personal tales and stories about the people of northern New England including this presentation about the Brownfield fires of 1947.

Yeah Man | Blue | 11:00pm
Yeah Man is an experimental jazz, rock, funk and neo-soul band from Portland.They hope their music will make you clap. Iit might even make you dance.

Learn some of the ins and outs of the occult in another Spellbound evening hosted by native Mainer Shawn Laughton who has run with moose in Northern Maine and danced with tornadoes on the Midwest Plains.

The traveling market put on by local creatives returns to Apres, Portland’s premier hard seltzery. Locally made gifts, crafts, art and more.
New Starz w/ Shine | Mayo Street Arts | 7:00pm
Maine rapper showcase featuring local artists Shine, KSL, and AB The King—who are killing the local rap scene.
Sunday the 23rd
Lost Dog Street Band | State Theatre | 8:00pm
Rescheduled from 2020, the Lost Dog Street Band will be bringing their take on Americana music to the State Theatre on Sunday night. Expect a mix of old-time music in styles of appalachian folk, redemptive country blues, and winsome balladry.
Brew + Flow | Banded Brewing Co. | 11:00am
The Brew + Flow yoga series picks back up at Banded Portland this Sunday at 11am. Instructor Abbie Rioux will guide a 45 minute vinyasa flow class followed by sips of your favorite Banded brews.
