Friday the 13th

Thompson’s Point is pleased to announce the return of their free, community-focused series, Summer Sunsets Live! This year, they will feature live bands, your favorite Portland food trucks, local craft cocktails from Three of Strong, beer, wine, ciders, and more. Showcasing local and regional talent, Thursdays and Fridays at The Depot Pavilion will be the premier destination for your friends, family, and fur babies all summer!

Sabina | Portland Stage Co. | 7:30 PM – 9:45 AM (Repeats Saturday at 3:30PM + 8PM, Sunday at 2PM)
From celebrated Maine playwright Willy Holtzman, comes a new musical, Sabina. From Carl Jung’s patient to lover, to student, Sabina pioneered the feminist movement that changed psychoanalysis forever and brought Jung and Freud together. Badfish – Tribute to Sublime w/ Joe Samba | AURA | 8:00 PM
Encompassing the sense of place and purpose long associated with Sublime’s music, Badfish, a Tribute to Sublime continues to channel the spirit of the 90s band with a fury not felt for some time. Badfish make their mark on the audience by playing with the spirit of Sublime. They perform not as Sublime would have, or did, but as Badfish does. Tickets here.
Saturday the 14th
Maine Fungi Fest| The Portland Expo | 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Celebrating all things fungi-related, plant-based healing, and evolving consciousness. All proceeds from this event will be put towards the work of the Maine Consciousness, Healing, and Living Medicine Project.
Trolls LIVE | Cross Insurance Area | 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM + 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM (Repeats Sunday)
The world of the Trolls comes alive in this totally interactive, story-rich musical celebration of everything the Trolls love – singing, dancing, rainbows, glitter and plenty of hugs. The extravaganza utilizes the latest in scenic projection, puppetry and media technology, and features a host of special effects and interactive surprises. Trolls LIVE! will enchant both children and adults alike with its popular Trolls show-stopping songs, as well as introduce audiences to all-new electrifying Trolls music and choreography. Non-instructional, free, open to all levels, and a safe space for all! BYO drums, although some will be available to share!
The Block Party| Aloft – Commercial Street | 10:30 AM -1:30 PM
Saturday block party at the Aloft Hotel on Commercial Street includes DJ LaRoc spinning the greatest 90s hip hop hits, food trucks, ans Liquid Riot cocktail specials. Aloft Hotels are dog friendly, so bring your furry friend to party with an Uncommon Paws doggie wine bar. If you don’t know now you’ll know.
Jeff “Skunk” Baxter | One Longfellow Square | 7:00 PM Doors – 8:00 PM Show
Jeff “Skunk” Baxter is an American virtuoso Grammy-winning guitarist, known for his stints in the rock bands Steely Dan, The Doobie Brothers, and Spirit. He has toured with those hit-packed bands as well as with Julian Lennon, Linda Rondstat and played on sessions for Ringo Starr, Joni Mitchell, Bryan Adams, Freddie Hubbard, John Cougar Mellencamp, Cher, Rod Stewart, Dolly Parton, Julio Iglesias, Barbara Streisand, Gene Simmons, Carly Simon, Donna Summer, and The Beach Boys, (to name a few). Alec Benjamin with Sara Keys | State Theatre | 7:00 PM Doors – 8:00 PM Show
Inspired by Eminem, Paul Simon, and Citizen Cope, the Phoenix-born, Los Angeles-based songwriter fashioned a cinematic, lo-fi sound that stirred up a buzz online right out of the gate, landing him a major label deal by the age of 18. In 2018, the hit song “Let Me Down Slowly” was the first single off Alec’s debut album that heralded a new chapter for the extraordinary storyteller. Tickets here.

Connor Garvey is an award-winning singer-songwriter from Portland with the amiable presence of an entertainer, the lyrical depth of a poet, and the enchantment of a storyteller. His unique sandy tenor and masterful blend of rhythm and melody draw a comparison to Paul Simon and contemporaries Josh Ritter and Jason Mraz. Free event.
