Thursday is really the gateway day to the weekend, so if you’re feeling like getting the party started early (and trying to find a way with coping with the fact we are GETTING SNOW ON APRIL 9TH), head down to Three Dollar Dewey’s for Shipyard’s Summer Ale Release Party. You can literally drink in the irony from 5-8 p.m. with $3 pints and a chance to snag some Shipyard prizes and giveaway items.

Garden of Earthly Delights by Hieronymous Bosch
While it’s not located in the Old Port, the Circus Conservatory of America is worth venturing down to Thompson’s Point. The group will be performing The Garden of Circus Delights all weekend, kicking off with their gala premiere Friday night at 7 p.m. Inspired by the works of the painter Hieronymus Bosch, the performance will feature renowned circus performers from throughout the US, as well as staff and students. Tickets to the opening night performance are $100. There will also be 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. shows on Saturday, and 2 p.m. on Sunday, when tickets will be $25.
Saturday, April 11
The Portland Pirates are holding an Autism Awareness Night as part of their 7 p.m. game against the Barre/Scranton Penguins. The team will be wearing special jerseys featuring Autism Awareness’ signature puzzle pieces on them, which will be auctioned off with proceeds donated to the Autism Society of Maine, along with $3 from every ticket sold.
Sunday, April 12
Chocolate lovers, your day has arrived! The 29th Annual Chocolate Lovers’ Fling will once again be going down at the Holiday Inn by the Bay from 1-4 p.m. Your $50 ticket benefits the Sexual Assault Response Services of Southern Maine and also buys you a seated service of decadent chocolate treats from some of the state’s finest chocolatiers, including Dean’s Sweets, Kids Gone Raw, and the talented culinary students at SMCC. Our advice…pace yourself, make sure to drink water, and enjoy!
