NewHeight Group and Redfern Properties have partnered to renovate the old Mercy Hospital site, while also creating affordable housing and new condos on Winter Street. They worked closely with local residents to consider their input, particularly on the appearance of the new condos. These condos will have front stoops and trees to blend in with the existing neighborhood homes.
Nine townhomes on Winter Street are set to be finished by mid-2024. On the other side of the street, two affordable housing projects are underway. Winter Landing will offer 52 one-bedroom apartments for seniors, while Equinox will have studios and apartments of various sizes.
Winter Landing will prioritize households earning 50% or less of the area median income, with some units reserved for those at 60% AMI or below, and others for individuals transitioning from homeless shelters. Equinox will also offer affordable units, including some for individuals in recovery through Mercy Hospital’s McAuley Residence program.
